The links to a more natural right-winger continue for Liverpool as a move for Brentford's Kevin Schade in January has been touted as a real possibility.

Liverpool targeted right-wing reinforcement during the last transfer window, and while they didn't bring in an out-and-out right winger, they did sign two forwards who add to Andoni Iraola's depth in those positions.

The Reds concluded their summer business with the arrival of Bradley Barcola from PSG after a long, drawn-out saga trying to secure the Frenchman's services. This, on top of the earlier signing of World Cup winner Victor Munoz, meant that the club had four wide attackers.

However, none of them are natural right-wingers, and while the likes of Rio Ngumoha and, more so, Cody Gakpo have started well in their new roles on the right-hand side, the club still appear keen on signing a natural Mohamed Salah replacement.

Links to the likes of Yankuba Minteh and Ismaila Sarr have been well documented, but a player that the club have been interested in previously is Kevin Schade.

Kevin Schade Player Profile

The German forward has been one of many success stories to come out of Brentford, and like so many of the Bees players, he arrived as a relatively unknown player, especially by Premier League standards, and would command a serious bid to pry him out of West London.

After initially joining on loan for the 2022/23 season, the option to buy clause in the deal was triggered by Brentford in 2023 for a club-record fee of £22 million.

Belief was high that Schade had a high ceiling and top-level potential, but his start to life in England would be slow due to an adductor injury that kept him out for most of his first season.

However, 2024/25 would be Schade's breakout year, featuring 43 times across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and three assists and making his mark on the Premier League.

Electric pace, high pressing and the ability to play all across the front line are the reasons why the Reds have been linked with a move for Kevin Schade in the near future.

What Has Been Reported?

According to Lyall Thomas at Sky Sports, Liverpool have been monitoring Kevin Schade's strong start to this season, after he has scored four goals in the first five Premier League games.

The report goes on to say that a January move for the in-form attacker is becoming a real possibility for Liverpool.

Kevin Schade would be a perfect fit for an Andoni Iraola system; his pressing, high work rate and electric pace in behind opposition defenders would be a real asset for Liverpool.

But Brentford will not sell cheaply, and especially not in January, but if the club could agree a deal with the Bees, then Schade would be a brilliant pick-up for the Reds, and aged just 24, he is the type of profile that Anfield's recruitment team loves to target when it comes to incoming transfers.
