Liverpool and PSG target Yan Diomande is yet to secure a transfer away from RB Leipzig, and with several Premier League and La Liga clubs keeping tabs on the winger, who will be the one to make a move and get the deal over the line?
Will Yan Diomande Leave RB Leipzig This Summer?

Yan Diomande has been the talk of Europe this summer, with almost every major club wanting to sign the forward from RB Leipzig.
The two frontrunners for the Ivory Coast international's signature appeared to be PSG and Liverpool. The latter of those, Liverpool, is, up to this point, the only side to have made an official bid for Yan Diomande.
The bid was worth a reported €116 million (£99 million), but it was immediately rejected by RB Leipzig, without the German club naming their price.
REUTERS/Hannah MckayPSG then emerged as the frontrunners after it was widely reported that Diomande's preference was a move to Paris, but so far the reigning Champions League winners have been unable to come to an agreement with the club.
That has now left the doors open to other clubs to enter the race for Yan Diomande's signature, as it has been reported today that Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid all hold an interest in the forward.
Why Do Every Major European Club Want Yan Diomande?
Over the last decade, the number of wingers who are quick, dynamic and willing to take their full back on either round the outside or running inside has reduced drastically. So many players, wingers included, are system players, meaning they are a cog in a well-trained team and lack flair or unpredictability.
Reuters/Maria LysakerHowever, in the last couple of years, the desire for unpredictable, pacey wingers has risen once again, and that is the exact profile that Yan Diomande fits into.
The forward has burst onto the scene in recent years, flying through the ranks at Spanish side Leganes and then signing for RB Leipzig for €20 million (£17 million) last summer.
Should RB Leipzig sell the highly rated forward this summer, then they would be set to make a significant profit on that initial investment on Yan Diomande.
Why Do Liverpool See Yan Diomande As A Top Target?
For Liverpool, they require a winger following the end of a nine-year stint at Anfield for Mohammed Salah at the end of last season. Therefore, it has been a well-established fact that Liverpool must recruit a winger this summer, with new manager Andoni Iraola confirming this in a recent press conference.
Jeff Blake-USA TODAY SportsAnd it will not be just any winger that Liverpool will need to bring in, as they need to be able to get as close to Mohammed Salah's effectiveness and impact on the team as possible, with matching the legendary Egyptian seen almost as an impossibility.
Why Haven't Any Club Managed To Make This Deal Happen?
There are a few reasons why Yan Diomande isn't closing in on a transfer anywhere at the moment, with the main one being that RB Leipzig do not want to sell Diomande this summer.
The Red Bull club have qualified for the Champions League for next season, and they want Yan Diomande to help lead them into the competition, with the hope of having a good run with their star winger in the team.
However, RB Leipzig's club model is based around signing young players for lower fees, offering them the platform to develop and selling them on for profit.
So by them not wishing to sell this summer, they risk Diomande's price dipping and losing money, which isn't something a club like RB Leipzig can ordinarily afford to do.
Author's Verdict
Liverpool have been looking for winger options all summer, and it is clear that in an ideal scenario, they would sign Yan Diomande. However, it would appear that no one is able to agree a deal with RB Leipzig, and until that happens, Yan Diomande will be going nowhere.
So for LFC, they will start looking elsewhere, with PSG's Bradley Barcola near the top of their list.
