Michael Carrick could reinstate Matheus Cunha in the starting line-up after the Brazilian missed the Brentford match on Monday evening.
Manchester United face Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon in a game which could confirm Champions League qualification for Michael Carrick's side.
Three points against Brentford on Monday evening put United three points ahead of Liverpool and Aston Villa, while Brighton and Hove Albion are on 50 points in sixth place.
If the Red Devils win on Sunday, they will guarantee a return to the Champions League, while a draw would also be enough if Brighton can't beat Newcastle United.
United won the reverse fixture at Anfield, thanks to goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire, but have not won against Liverpool at Old Trafford since March 2024 when a late Amad goal sent United into the next round of the FA Cup.
Cunha to return vs Liverpool
Senne Lammens has had a stunning start to life in Red, having lost only a handful of fixtures for United since making his debut in goal back in October 2025.
With the Belgian vying for a spot within his home country's World Cup squad, he is due to play his 30th fixture in a row for United.
The defenders seem to pick themselves at the moment, especially with Lisandro Martínez still suspended. Leny Yoro returned from injury against Brentford, but is unlikely to dislodge Harry Maguire or Ayden Heaven.
The Frenchman replaced Luke Shaw in the 73rd minute, who appeared to be in some discomfort, although Carrick has now spoke on his fitness in lead-up to the Liverpool match. So, it seems he will be available.
Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes will aim to win the midfield battle. Casemiro and Mainoo have been exceptional of late, while Fernandes is closing in on the assist record. One more assist would level him with Thierry Henry and Kevin de Bruyne.
The frontline is where most of the debate occurs. Amad's poor performance against Brentford could see him drop to the bench, but Benjamin Šeško struggled to get into the game until his second-half goal. It came from a counter-attack after Amad won the ball back.
Bryan Mbeumo seems the most likely to start, having played across the frontline since Carrick took charge.
Matheus Cunha missed United's most recent fixture against Brentford after suffering a sore hip flexor and being deemed not fit enough to play.
However, Roundtable understands that, amid the Brazilian's return to training earlier this week, Cunha is due to be selected in the squad that faces Liverpool.
Amad's sub-par display may therefore see him dropped to the bench against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, with Cunha reinstated on the left. Mbeumo would then move to the right flank, with Šeško up front.
United predicted XI vs Liverpool: Lammens, Dalot, Maguire, Heaven, Shaw, Casemiro, Mainoo, Mbeumo, Fernandes, Cunha, Šeško.
