Bryan Mbeumo and Amad champion Michael Carrick's leadership, believing his deep club knowledge makes him the ideal manager to guide Manchester United forward.
Two weeks ago, there was a slight scare when Manchester United announced that Bryan Mbeumo had pulled out of international duty with Cameroon for the March international break.
Cameroon were due to play Australia and China in two friendly ties, but with no World Cup to prepare for, it was decided that Mbeumo would not take part in the games.
United announced that Mbeumo had decided to withdraw from the international camp for precautionary reasons. While this quelled nerves regarding the potential for any serious injury, concerns remained.
Mbeumo was then spotted back in training with United as they travelled to Ireland for a training camp just outside Dublin, suggesting he is fit to play again.
Mbeumo and Amad back Carrick for United job
Amad and Mbeumo held a press conference with journalists on Tuesday afternoon, and a large topic of conversation surrounded whether they were happy with Michael Carrick at United and if he should continue as head coach.
Mbeumo spoke first, explaining that he likes playing under the former United midfielder, and just wants to do as much as he can to continue the club's recent on-pitch success.
"We've got like a good experience with him, I like playing under him as well," Mbeumo said. "It's not for us to decide, but yeah, we're gonna try to take as much as we can from him."
The winger also added, "He knows the journey of the club, he knows how to talk to us as well, and then I think it's been easier because he knew the house, so he has been great to work with him."
Amad, however, was much more forthcoming. The Ivorian winger was quick to state that, while he also appreciates that it's not the players who make the final decision, he believes Carrick is the right man to take United forward in the long term.
"He's been working with each player, so he's doing very well, and we are really happy to have him as a manager," Amad said.
"He [Carrick] knows the club, he played for the club, so he has great experience, I think, to manage this club. He's been here not too long, but he's been doing very good and his relationship with every player is very good.
"Sometimes you need this kind of manager to bring the club where they belong.
"I think from my personal side, he's the right man, but we are not... it is not the players who decide if he's gonna be the manager, but yeah, we are really happy to have him as a manager."
What are United's injuries looking like?
Further good news for United was that Lisandro Martínez had returned to full training with the rest of the senior side, having missed several games last month with a calf problem.
With Harry Maguire suspended for the upcoming clash against Leeds United due to his red card against Bournemouth two weeks ago, the centre-back may return straight into the starting XI on Monday evening.
Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu also travelled to Ireland with the group, but is still following his own training programme as he continues to rehabilitate from a long-term hamstring problem.
Matthijs de Ligt did not travel due to his ongoing back problems, with no timeline for his return, while Diogo Dalot and Tom Heaton were absent due to illness.
Chido Obi and Shea Lacey also stated behind in Manchester, but this was because the club want the pair to be available to face Real Madrid for the U21S on Tuesday evening.
