Sully Talkz Exclusive: Manchester United have held talks with Jorge Salinas' representatives, as they look at multiple options in the left-back position.

Man Utd are looking at left-backs, but their winger situation looks good. More Videos

Manchester United have held talks with the representatives of Racing Santander left-back Jorge Salinas.

It is understood that the data team at Old Trafford are big fans of Salinas, and he is seen as a high-potential target.

It has been widely reported that Salinas has a £13.7 million release clause, making him a cheaper option for Manchester United.

But Roundtable understands that United are still looking at multiple options for the left-back position.

David Raum is also seen as an option for United, who previously played with Benjamin Šeško at RB Leipzig.

Raum remains at Leipzig, as their captain, but his contract is set to expire in June 2027.

What would Salinas bring to Man Utd?

Jorge Salinas played in La Liga 2 last term and was a key member of the Racing Santander side that clinched the title.

He made 33 appearances and recorded seven assists in the league last season and has already played in La Liga in 2026/27.

At just 19 years old, Salinas brings potential rather than proven experience. He would be a cheaper option for Manchester United due to his release clause.

United have just 13 days until the end of the transfer window and even less until their first game of the Premier League season.

Michael Carrick's side face Hull City on Saturday, 22 August, away from home, before returning to Old Trafford to play another newly promoted side (Ipswich Town) the following week.

Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans look set to be available, although Mason Mount was not spotted in training in the lead-up to the Hull City match.

What would Raum bring to Man Utd?

David Raum is known for his attacking skills and has previously played as a left-wing-back for RB Leipzig.

The German full-back was a key player when Benjamin Šeško turned out for Leipzig, with Raum picking up six assists in Šeško's last term at the club.

Unlike Hall and Salinas, Raum brings experience, which includes playing in the Champions League.

Manchester United return to the competition this season for the first time since 2023/24 under Erik ten Hag, and as it stands, Luke Shaw is the only senior left-back at the club.

Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui have played left-back in the past, but fans are calling out for a new left-back to be signed before the end of the transfer window.
