Everything you need to know about Nottingham Forest, as it happens, throughout transfer deadline day.

Transfer deadline day has arrived, and Nottingham Forest are in the process of finalising their squad for the season ahead.

New head coach Oliver Glasner has so far been backed with six signings, five of whom will be at his disposal after Gustavo Sa headed to Olympiacos on loan.

If the right opportunities arrive, however, Forest could still be active in the hours that remain of the transfer window.

In particular, a midfielder is viewed as a priority, if the right deal materialises, while a goalkeeper and wide player are also under consideration. A number of outgoings could also materialise.

Roundtable will have you covered with every update live as it happens, as the 11pm deadline draws closer.

Live updates (newest first)

22:16 - Signing off (hopefully)

I'll still be around in case of any late developments, but we are not expecting anything at this stage.

So with that said, I expect this is it for this live blog. Thank you for following along, no better way I'd have rather spent my birthday!

22:13 - No late arrivals expected

Per John Percy, the expectation is for no more additions at Forest tonight, bringing an end to a very calm and measure transfer window.

21:37 - Arnaud Kalimuendo stays at Forest

After a never-ending saga over the summer, Arnaud Kalimuendo will not join Eintracht Frankfurt, per Florian Plettenberg.

The German side remained keen on the Frenchman until the German deadline (7pm UK time), but Forest and Glasner were keen to keep him, and therefore any potential exit needed to be very favourable to the Reds.

Such terms were never offered.

21:20 - Gustavo Puerta joins Olympiacos directly

After talk that Gustavo Puerta would sign for Forest, before joining Olympiacos on loan, Real Racing Club de Santander have confirmed that it is Olympiacos who triggered his release clause, not Forest.

While the exact structure is not yet clear, Roundtable understand that there is a pathway involved in the deal for him to join Forest in the future. But for now, he joins Olympiacos permanently.

19:36 - DONE DEAL: Morato joins West Ham United on loan with a buy option

The Brazilian reunites with former Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo for a loan spell, which could become permanent, in east London.

19:00 - DONE DEAL: Zach Abbott joins Southampton on loan

The 20-year-old right-sided defender has penned a new four-year deal with Forest ahead of the deal. No option to buy for the Championship side contrary to earlier reports.

15:45 - Nottingham Forest target heading to Charlton Athletic

According to various reports in south London, Charlton Athletic are closing in on the signing of Junior Nkeng from AFC Wimbledon.

It is understood that Nottingham Forest had been keen on the 19-year-old Barcelona-born winger earlier this summer, but a move never materialised.

14:24 - Second Murphy bid rejected

Per Craig Hope, Forest have seen a second bid rejected for Newcastle United's Jacob Murphy.

The second offer is believed to have been worth £15 million. Newcastle do not want to sell the 31-year-old today.

12:49 - Big stars NOT FOR SALE

Have seen some talk getting regurgitated about Morgan Gibbs-White and Neco Williams.

Just to be clear, as reported previously neither are for sale today.

10:00 - DONE DEAL: Josh Powell completes loan exit

Josh Powell has joined Northampton Town on a season-long loan from Nottingham Forest.

Powell spent last season on loan with fellow League Two sides Colchester United and later Fleetwood Town, making 32 appearances for both teams combined, operating as a left-back, and later left-wing-back.

09:06 - Morato also set for loan move

As was widely reported yesterday, Morato is poised to join West Ham United on loan, as he too heads to the Championship.

The Brazilian centre-back had been the subject of interest from a number of clubs in Italy, but he now looks set for a reunion with former Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

Coupled with Abbott's impending exit, it would leave Forest with just four natural centre-backs to cover three positions...

08:42 - Zach Abbott set for Southampton loan amid criticism

Zach Abbott is on the verge of a loan to the Championship, with Southampton leading the race to sign him.

Millwall had also been keen, but he looks set for the south coast, with the deal likely to include a buy option, per the Southern Daily Echo.

Some Saints fans have acted frankly embarrassingly in their dismissal of Abbott, with many slating his apparent lack of experience, given he would be replacing Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who is poised to join Aston Villa.

They are, of course, being nonsensical. Abbott is a real talent and has shown that for Forest. He will thrive in the Championship, wherever he ends up.

08:20 - What to expect

Well, deadline day is upon us. Whether deals themselves materialise or not, we are expecting a busy day news-wise. Roundtable will bring you every update as it happens.

It’s been a pleasantly surprisingly quiet start to deadline day, so we’re getting underway here a little later than planned.

If the right opportunity arises, we know Forest have interest in three positions: a goalkeeper, midfielder, and a wide 10/wingback depth option (Jacob Murphy or similar).

Forest could sign none, one or all of those positions, and anyone claiming to know for sure, at this stage, would be guessing.

There is also expected to be at least one outgoing, Zach Abbott on loan, but other exits are still possible too.

Whatever happens, we'll keep you up-to-date with the news that matters live here on Roundtable.

01:00 - Deadline day arrives: welcome!

Well, deadline day is upon us. Whether deals themselves materialise or not, we are expecting a busy day news-wise. Roundtable will bring you every update as it happens.

I may not be able to have a relaxed birthday, but I will try to get at least a few hours of sleep before potential chaos ensues.

I'll be checking back in from around 6:30am BST. Reminder that the transfer window slams shut at 11pm, barring any potential deal sheets!

In the meantime, feel free to check out our deadline day preview below:
