The low-down on the potential comings and goings of Nottingham Forest's transfer deadline day.

Transfer deadline day is nearly upon us, and Nottingham Forest continue to be at the centre of many discussions.

There is an expectation that deals will be done, whether that be incomings, outgoings or both.

Here is a brief rundown of what you need to know as we enter the final 24 hours of the summer transfer window.

Incomings

Daniel Muñoz was unveiled by the club on Monday, becoming the Reds' sixth addition of the window, but he may not be the last.

Forest are keen to strengthen their squad, but will only enter the market for the right profile of player, and only at the right price.

Midfield madness

This endeavour has seen Forest have a bid rejected for Liverpool breakout star Trey Nyoni, while an agreed deal for talented Everton prospect Harrison Armstrong collapsed after backlash from the Toffees' fans.

Clearly, a high-potential young midfielder is a priority for the club, but with such little time left in the window, convincing a club to sell a bright prospect could prove challenging.

Whether they pivot to other midfield targets before the deadline, of a same or different profile, remains to be seen.

Goalkeeper situation

An audacious Saturday night bid for Crystal Palace shot-stopper Dean Henderson has the first sign that Forest were in the market for another new goalkeeper.

That approach was categorically rejected due to Palace's refusal to lose such an important player, and their captain, so close to the deadline.

Forest have considered Liverpool's Giorgi Mamardashvili, but there has been no formal approach as of yet.

A forward option possible

Nottingham Forest saw an offer rejected for Newcastle's Jacob Murphy, and the Toon are determined to keep the Englishman.

Murphy is the only player of this profile linked with Forest in recent days, so may have been viewed as a market opportunity, making it unclear if other targets in this area will be pursued.

Summary

Without beating around the bush, there are more unknowns than knowns. A lot could happen, a little could happen, or nothing could happen.

Whatever happens, Roundtable will keep you in the loop right up until the deadline.

Outgoings

As well as potential incomings, Forest could oversee several outgoings in the final 24 hours of the transfer window.

Forest will not sanction any high-profile sales, with the immediate futures of Morgan Gibbs-White and Neco Williams not a consideration heading into the final hours of the window.

It would take a truly astronomical bid for discussions to be even remotely entertained, and even then, Forest's resolve could prevent a deal. In short, either exit is viewed as a non-starter.

Possible exits

One deal that is on the verge of being done is Zach Abbott's loan move to join Championship hopefuls Southampton.

Fellow defender Morato has also been mooted for a loan exit, with Italian clubs and West Ham United keen. This is less advanced than Abbott's deal and has work to do before any agreement is potentially reached.

Arnaut Kalimuendo remains a target for Eintracht Frankfurt, who have chased his signature all summer.

The Bundesliga side had an option to buy the Frenchman, chose not to trigger it, and have since spent all summer chasing him with no progress from their side.

German reports indicate renewed hope that a deal can be struck, but Forest remain resolute in their valuation of a permanent exit, and would be keen to keep him if no suitable offer arrives. Glasner has been impressed by the 24-year-old.
