Morgan Gibbs-White has spoken about his form after his first England call-up in almost a year.

Nottingham Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White has insisted that his numbers last season "speak for themself" after his two recent England cameos.

Gibbs-White's 12 Premier League goals for Forest are more than any Premier League player has managed so far in 2026.

The 26-year-old played a huge role in Forest ensuring survival after an enduring relegation battle, and his excellent form has continued into the new campaign.

So good has his form been that he earned his first England call-up in almost a year, following Cole Palmer's withdrawal due to 'load management'.

Gibbs-White has featured in both games, twice as a late substitute, but had an immensely positive impact following his introduction in both games.

He has garnered a reputation for grabbing games by the scruff of the neck at Forest, and signs of that were translated into his Three Lions cameos, earning further praise.

Now, Gibbs-White has spoken out about his form, and, speaking to The Nottingham Post, insisted that his numbers speak for themself.

“We have incredible amounts of talent. Each one is very individual. I feel like I'm very clever on and off the ball, so maybe that.

“My hard work, determination to win games, my winning mentality. And yeah, there's incredible talent in this dressing room. It's difficult, but you've just got to be on your game.

“It’s definitely the most competitive position. If you look at the positions that I play in, you've got Morgan Rogers, Jude Bellingham, me, Cole Palmer, Eberechi Eze, Anthony Gordon. If you want to put it on the left.

“So you look at them names and it's stacked. But all I can do is just focus on myself and hopefully me playing for club level, and putting performances there, puts me in a good space.

“I feel like the numbers that I've got last season speak for themself. But yeah, I've definitely seen a change in my game. And I feel like I took care of the ball a lot better, took my chances when I needed to, and had better composure in front of goal.

“And so yeah, I definitely improved, and I've started the season off okay, and so it's all about just building, continuing and trying to improve.”

England have two more Nations League games left in this international break, away to Croatia and at home to Czechia, which offers Gibbs-White plenty of opportunity to gain more minutes for the national team.
