All the latest going-ons at Nottingham Forest as transfer deadline day grows closer.

Transfer deadline day is just five days away and Nottingham Forest are expected to remain active until the deadline.

As the clock ticks down on the transfer window, rumours, interest and done deals are mounting, and becoming increasingly difficult to keep on top of.

But fear not, Roundtable have got you covered. This is a breakdown of everything you need to know as we enter the twilight days of the transfer window.

Following the arrival of Liam Delap, Forest are expected to sign one more player, a wing-back, barring any sudden change of heart.

Incomings

Announced: Liam Delap (Striker) - Chelsea

Done deal! Forest and Oliver Glasner have got their man, in a club-record £45 million deal, excluding add-ons, from Chelsea. The 23-year-old has penned a five-year deal on Trentside.

He was registered in time to face Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, though a lack of time in training with the squad means his involvement, especially from the start, is not guaranteed.

Javier Rueda (Right wingback) - Celta Vigo

Forest had agreed a deal to sign Spanish wingback Javier Rueda for £12.86 million, but it sensationally collapsed at the 11th hour.

Celta Vigo head coach Claudio Giraldez previously insisted that Rueda would be staying at the club.

“It hasn’t even crossed my mind that Rueda might not stay,” he insisted. "It’s only natural that there is interest in him.

"He's our player, and I want him to remain so. He is a very important player for us and is vital to our squad planning."

Those comments looked to have backfired as a deal advanced, but after another spectacular press conference on Wednesday, when Giraldez reemphasised the 24-year-old's importance and criticised the reported fee, the plug was pulled on the deal.

This is said to have left Forest, who must now move on to other targets, shocked.

Dodo (Right wingback) - Fiorentina

Forest's pursuit of Dodo has been prominently reported in Italy, despite reports being less prevalent in England.

Fiorentina are keen to sell the Brazilian fullback, who can also play as a wingback, after he entered the final year of his contract.

The Reds' opening offer of just £6 million was rejected, but Fiorentina's asking price of £8.5 million is not far, making a deal very viable still.

Givairo Read (Right wingback) - Feyenoord

Forest had, for some time, been entangled in a lengthy transfer saga with Feyenoord for right wingback Givairo Read.

Glasner's side saw multiple bids rejected for the 20-year-old, and talks of a potential new bid fell silent.

There has been no indication that Forest will return to the table for Read, and the Dutch youth international has spoken, opening the door to staying at Feyenoord.

“I am at a great club," he said. "I feel good and at home. I still have much to learn. I didn’t necessarily have to leave; it was a great opportunity, but it just feels good here.”

Pape Matar Sarr (Midfielder) - Tottenham Hotspur

Pape Matar Sarr looks certain to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer, having featured just once for the Lilywhites during pre-season.

A minor hamstring injury ruled the 23-year-old out of Spurs' first two competitive games of the season, as transfer interest builds in the background.

Reports over Sarr's preferred destination vary, but AS Monaco are a strong contender. Nottingham Forest were also mentioned as being able to "change everything".

Simply put, there has been no credible report to suggest that Forest have any actual interest in the Senegalese international.

The idea that they could change the situation if they bid may sound nice, but there is no indication that they will, or that they want any midfielder, for that matter.

Igor Thiago (Striker) - Brentford

Not happening. Absurd rumour.

Outgoings

Announced: Taiwo Awoniyi (£9 million) - Coventry City

It was an emotional parting as Taiwo Awoniyi bid farewell to the City Ground during Forest's final pre-season game. The following day, his move was confirmed.

The Nigerian striker has already scored and assisted for the Sky Blues, in their 4-2 Carabao Cup triumph over Plymouth Argyle.

Announced: Dilane Bakwa (loan) - LOSC Lille

After a torrid first season on Trentside, not helped by a hamstring injury, Dilane Bakwa was always expected to depart this summer.

The winger has returned to his native France to join LOSC Lille on a season-long loan, as he bids to get his once very exciting career back on track.

Announced: Eric Da Silva Moreira (loan) - Excelsior

After a highly impressive pre-season, Eric Da Silva has joined Dutch side Excelsior on a season-long loan deal to continue his development.

The move comes ahead of the expected signing of a new right wingback by Forest, which would have seen Moreira become third-choice.

Having played just 70 minutes during a loan to Forest's sister club Rio Ave last season, before being recalled in January to play with the B Team, Moreira will be hoping for a much more productive spell away.

Announced: Lamin Sillah (loan) - Gillingham

Highly rated B Team striker Lamin Sillah has joined Gillingham on a season-long loan.

The Gambian youngster has netted twice in two games this season, and is considered one of the academy's best prospects after a strong debut season.

Morato (loan + option) - AS Roma

AS Roma are in the market for a new defender ahead of Jan Ziolkowski’s imminent move to Monza, and have reportedly held discussions with the camp of Morato over an initial loan move.

The Brazilian is thought to be very keen on the potential move, but it would leave Forest very short in defence.

Definitely a deal with legs, and one to keep an eye on between now and the end of the transfer window.

Zach Abbott (loan) - Various clubs

Zach Abbott has long been one of the academy's most highly-rated stars, and has been promoted to the first team as a result.

Still on the fringes of the first team squad, however, a loan move looks to be on the cards for the 20-year-old central defender.

Watford, Millwall and Preston have all shown interest in Abbott, who has made just 13 senior appearances to date.

Tyler Bindon (loan) - Watford

Tyler Bindon is poised for another loan spell, and follow Abbott to Watford, with the Hornets tempted by a double swoop.

The New Zealand international defender played three times at the World Cup, and has previously enjoyed loan spells at Reading and Sheffield United since joining Forest in February 2025.

He is also expected to be loaned to the EFL again this season, with Watford the most likely destination, but other clubs are not ruled out, as Watford are considering a plethora of defensive options.

Nicolo Savona (permanent) - Atalanta

Atalanta were thought to be keen on securing a permanent deal for Forest full-back Nicolo Savona, who had reportedly agreed a five-year contract in principle.

But news that the Italian has suffered a setback in his recovery from a serious knee injury, and is a matter of weeks away from taking his rehabilitation back to the pitch, means there is no prospect of a move before Tuesday's deadline.

Neco Williams (permanent) - Tottenham Hotspur

It is no secret that Tottenham Hotspur would like to sign Neco Williams, but Nottingham Forest have absolutely no interest in selling the Welsh international.

Forest are focused on extending his current contract, and it would take an astronomical bid to convince them to sell the 25-year-old so late in the transfer window. It feels like a non-starter.
