Anthony Joseph has confirmed some fresh news regarding Kasper Hogh and Celtic, after a club-record deal was agreed.

It is a move that many would have seen coming. Over the past couple of days, noise had grown around the situation of Kasper Hogh.

Celtic had been in similar positions in the past as well and failed to deliver. So, it came as somewhat of a surprise when the news broke that a deal had been agreed between the clubs.

The figure proved to be higher than expected as well. Initially, it was thought that a fee in the region of £8 million would be enough to convince Bodo/Glimt.

But at the end of the day, it turns out that it took a club-record £11 million offer for the Norwegian club to agree to part ways with their striker. And Anthony Joseph has shared some more details into the move.

Anthony Joseph confirms details of Hogh's move to Celtic

According to a report from Joseph on Sky Sports, Hogh is keen to join Celtic and will arrive in the UK on Saturday evening ahead of completing his medical.

Hogh has been Celtic's number one striker target this summer. The 25-year-old is set to sign a four-year contract, with the Hoops holding the option to extend the deal by a further year.

Of course, this is not a move in isolation. Celtic have seen Kelechi Iheanacho and Daizen Maeda leave the club in recent days.

Iheanacho headed to Turkey after a new contract could not be agreed. On the other hand, Maeda made a £10 million move to Ipswich Town, which was made official today.

Is Hogh the right signing?

Of course, there are going to be pros and cons to every move. Let us start by looking at the positives.

Just like Camilo Duran, the biggest factor behind this move will be the performances of Hogh in the Champions League last season.

He scored a brace against Manchester City while also scoring when facing teams like Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and Sporting CP in the Champions League, as Bodo/Glimt made a history run in the competition.

His overall scoring record has to be considered positive as well. He managed to score 54 goals and 22 assists in 103 games for Bodo/Glimt across all competitions.

What are the doubts? Well, firstly, can Hogh deliver outside of the elite system that was built at Bodo/Glimt?

That would pretty much be the major doubt when it comes to Celtic's signing of the striker in a club-record deal, which, of course, will add to the pressure.
