The Italian journalist has made a blockbuster transfer claim regarding Celtic and an impending move.
Celtic have found it difficult once again to get deals over the line in the transfer market. One can only wonder how Ange Postecoglou had managed to have the process run so seamlessly and efficiently during his time at Parkhead.
Unfortunately, that was a period of exception rather than the new norm for Celtic. Brendan Rodgers was let down time and again by the club's transfer activity. And it looks like the same is happening with Martin O'Neill as well.
Somehow, Camilo Duran is still Celtic's only signing of the summer transfer window. We are a week away from the start of the season.
And although the club have been linked with a long list of names, none of the deals has gotten over the line. Fortunately, there is a positive update on one situation.
Journalist claims Celtic deal will most likely happen
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio said while speaking with SpilXperten (via La Gazzetta dello Celtic):
“I think Kasper Høgh will move to Celtic. It’s not a done deal yet, but there is a good possibility.”
Of course, Hogh would be the second striker Celtic have signed this summer. But they have put themselves in this position.
Daizen Maeda was always bound to leave this summer and is now on the verge of completing a move to Ipswich Town.
The smart move would have been to extend with Kelechi Iheanacho after the integral role he played in winning Celtic the league title last season. But somehow, the club fluffed their lines and saw him move to Turkey instead.
That has left the club very limited when it comes to their options up top. Duran is joined by Callum Osmand, highly rated but with just four senior games to his name so far in his career. So, signing someone like Hogh could do them a world of good.
Would Kasper Hogh be a good signing for Celtic?
Now, there is a lot of excitement around a potential move for Hogh. It is not hard to understand why.
He is coming off a phenomenal season in the Champions League. He scored against the likes of Manchester City, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and Sporting CP.
He has also been in good form domestically, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists in 12 Eliteserien games this season so far.

Overall, he has registered 54 goals and 22 assists in 103 appearances for Bodo/Glimt. So, he has a track record of success over time, and not a purple patch of form.
That being said, it is also worth mentioning that his success has come in a well-drilled system at Bodo/Glimt. How would he do outside of it? That is the big question ahead of a potential move to Celtic this summer.
