It looks like Celtic have the recently-sacked Premier League manager on their radar as they look to replace Martin O'Neill in the summer.
Replacing Martin O'Neill won't be an easy task for Celtic. Despite having to work with a weak squad, he has delivered results, no matter what you think about the performances.
Following the 3-1 win over Falkirk this weekend, Celtic are now level on points at the top of the table. Yes, they have played a game more than both Hearts and Rangers. But what it does is put pressure on those two title rivals to get results in their respective game in hand.
One could argue that if Celtic had not gone with the Wilfried Nancy experiment in the middle of the season and stuck with O'Neill throughout, then they would have had the Premiership in the bag already.
So, finding a replacement for O'Neill, when he steps down as interim manager at the end of the season, won't be a simple task.
Celtic have been linked with quite a few managers lately. Jens Berthel Askou, Robbie Keane and Roberto Martinez are some that come to mind immediately. Now, it is time to add another name to that list.
According to Football FanCast, Celtic are still undecided on their next permanent manager despite strong links to Askou, and are now considering Thomas Frank.
Frank is without a job at the moment, having been sacked by Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the season. Could Celtic convince him to head down south?
While things might not have worked out well at Tottenham, Frank is still highly regarded in England, thanks to the job he did at Brentford. So, bringing him to Parkhead won't be an easy task.
If Celtic want to appoint a manager of that level, he will want assurances over the club's transfer plans and ambitions when it comes to making a mark in Europe.
Interestingly, there had been a lot of talk about that when Brendan Rodgers returned for his second spell at Celtic but it was not backed up.
It is very possible that the Frank rumour does not go anywhere of note and the Hoops end up making a safer choice. But if they do succeed in bringing the Danish manager to Parkhead, then it would have to be considered as a major coup on the part of the club.
For now, the focus has to be on the remaining games in hand and winning as many of them as possible. Four in the league and a Scottish Cup final. For all intents and purposes, there are five finals for Celtic.
