Celtic appear to be going all out to sign a player with a €30m release clause, who could be available for around £8m.

Celtic's lack of activity this summer is starting to turn into a worry for the supporters. Coming into the transfer window, it was very clear that the Hoops needed to make additions in several areas across the pitch.

The hope was that lessons had been learnt from their past mistakes. But unfortunately, from what we have seen so far, that might not be the case.

Anyways, the hope is that things will improve. It is not too late to turn things around. But the board do need to pick up the pace. Otherwise, they could be headed for another failed Champions League qualification campaign.

Also, with the Rangers already making signings, who knows what the landscape of the league will look like come next season.

Celtic going 'all out' to sign goalkeeper

It looks like a goalkeeper is near the top of Celtic's transfer wishlist. And they are monitoring one with a €30 million release clause, although, he is expected to be available for a fraction of that.

According to Angel Garcia (via EverythingCeltic), Celtic are going ‘all out’ for Las Palmas goalkeeper Dino Horkas.

Signing Horkas will not be easy though. The 27-year-old is also attracting interest from Olympiacos, Sevilla and Hull City.

He is currently on the books at La Liga 2 club Las Palmas. Spanish football is famous for its high release clauses but reports have suggested that Horkas could be available for a transfer fee in the region of £6-8 million.

Why Horkas could be a good signing for Celtic

Horkas might have been playing in the second division of Spanish football, but he put up some impressive numbers for Las Palmas. That is why he is drawing so much interest from clubs across Europe.

He saved more than 72% of the shots he faced and prevented four goals when you take the xGOT into consideration.

Horkas was also very good with the ball at his feet. He completed more passes than any other goalkeeper in the second division in Spain, a nation famous for possession-based football.

Of course, that ability would come in handy for a team like Celtic, who share the lion's share of possession in most games and like to build out from the back, meaning the goalkeeper needs to be adept with the ball at his feet as well.

Will Celtic be able to sign Horkas this summer? Time shall tell. But he does have the profile to be a success story at Parkhead.
