It is easy to understand why Celtic fans are not happy with how the summer transfer window has gone for them so far. Only one signing has been made so far.

That is the arrival of Camilo Duran from Qarabag. While the Colombian did score five times in the Champions League last season, overall, he found the back of the net 15 times. That is a decent return but not outstanding by any means. Let's see how effective he proves to be in a Celtic jersey.

A lot more is needed though, and in a variety of positions as well. It remains to be seen who Celtic end up signing and when.

Let us not forget that time is of the essence as well. Celtic should be doing everything possible to make it past the Champions League qualifiers and into the main rounds of the competition this summer. But are they?

The good news is, it looks like Celtic have laid down the groundwork for another move, this time for a winger.

According to Christian Vaquero, Celtic are in contact with Haissem Hassan over a four-season contract. A new offer has been prepared of €7-8 million for the Egyptian winger.

But Real Oviedo are insisting on €12 million, which is the release clause in Hassan's contract, but are open to negotiating.

It remains to be seen if Celtic are able to get a deal done or not. It feels like there is still some gap between what they are willing to offer and what Real Oviedo want.

Hassan's season in La Liga was not a grand success by any means as Real Oviedo finished bottom of the table.

At an individual level, he did not score a single goal and managed three assists. Perhaps one needs to remember that he was playing for the 20th team in the Spanish top flight.

Under those circumstances, it is always going to be difficult for a winger to produce. But at the World Cup, he was a standout performer for Egypt.

In fact, it remains to be seen if other clubs entering the race for Hassan after how well he did at the World Cup.

So, Celtic might need to get a deal over the line fast if they want to bring in the Egyptian winger to Parkhead this summer.
