The La Liga player looks to be on the radar of Celtic, who want to bring him in as a starter.

A lot of Celtic fans cannot wait for this season to be over. They have grown tired of the football that has been presented to them by the Hoops. It is hard to remember the last time they won a game by a convincing margin. At least they are winning though and have remained in the title race, although, based on current form, it is hard to see them getting the better of the Rangers or Hearts in the post-split fixtures.

An injection of quality is required. This squad seems to have grown stagnant. Injuries to key players have not helped either.

All things considered, it is about time that Celtic shook up things, both on and off the pitch. But in doing so, it looks like they have some of their old targets back on the radar.

Celtic's recruitment record has been terrible in recent times. That was not the case when Ange Postecoglou was the manager of the club though. And it looks like the Hoops might be trying to sign some of the players they missed out on during the Australian's time in Glasgow.

According to Football Insider, Celtic are lining up a move for Mathew Ryan as they look to make him their number one goalkeeper next season.

Kasper Schmeichel's time at Celtic will come to an end this summer, although he has not played in weeks due to a serious injury that could prove to be a career-ending one.

Celtic are no strangers to bringing in veterans to fill the spot between the posts. Before Schmeichel, Joe Hart had a three-year run at Parkhead. Could Ryan be next?

Ryan has made over 100 appearances for the Australian national team. At the club level, he has a solid resume as well.

Ryan is currently the starting goalkeeper for Levante in La Liga. Of course the course of his career, he has also featured for Arsenal, AS Roma, Brighton & Hove Albion, Valencia, AZ, Real Sociedad, Lens and more.

34 years of age now, he should have some football left in the tank. It remains to be seen if Celtic do end up making a move for him this summer or not.

Ryan's contract with Levante runs out in the summer but there is the option for a further year in there. That being said, there is a possibility that the club could end up getting relegated. They are currently sitting at 19th in La Liga. If that happens, it would make it easier for Celtic to swoop in and sign the Australian, most likely as a free agent.
