Celtic's summer transfer business is worth keeping an eye on. The Hoops will need to make multiple additions to what is a weak squad that was somewhat lucky to win the double this season.

Midfield is one area which could be in need of urgent reinforcements. Reo Hatate looks almost certain to leave after how he was barely featured in the final few weeks of the campaign.

Arne Engels has also been linked with a move away, having been on the receiving end of a significant offer in the winter transfer window.

And then there is Benjamin Nygren, the club's highest scorer of the campaign, who has also been linked with an exit on the back of his excellent debut campaign, which saw him named the Player of the Season.

For a little while, there had been speculation around the future of Callum McGregor as well, but fortunately, that seems to have faded away over time.

On the other hand, Celtic continue to be linked with midfielders. And a new name appears to have emerged on their radar now.

According to the Daily Record, Celtic are set to join the race for £5m Bosnian midfielder Benjamin Tahirovic.

It is believed that Celtic are preparing to make a move before Tahirovic heads off to the World Cup.

But Brondby are said to be keen on holding on to the midfielder until after the World Cup in hopes that his transfer value might soar after the tournament.

Tahirovic has already been named as part of the 26-man Bosnia and Herzegovina squad that will head to the World Cup this summer.

In the past, he has been on the books at clubs like AS Roma and Ajax. But it is at Brondby that he has found his best form, catching the eye of Celtic.

Of course, this is not the first time that Celtic have been linked with a player from Brondby.

Celtic fans will remember how the club were linked with a move for Mathias Kvistgaarden for two straight years, only for him to end up joining Norwich City instead.

Celtic will need to show a bit more ambition and urgency if they want to sign Tahirovic. There is no doubt that he is rated highly in European footballing circles, considering his past at AS Roma and Ajax.

If he ends up having a good World Cup, that reputation will only grow. So, the best-case scenario would be getting a deal done before the summer tournament starts.
