Here is the Celtic team news for their upcoiming game against Hibernian at Easter Road in the Scottish Premiership.

One cannot understate the impact that the result of the Hibernian vs Celtic game could end up having on the Scottish Premiership title race. Hearts and the Rangers are set to face off against each other on this matchday as well.

So, if Celtic win, there is a chance that they could find themselves back at the top of the Premiership table by the end of this window. Even if they don't, the Hoops certainly would be taking a step forward in the right direction.

Of course, injuries have been a thorn in their path over the course of the season. That is one of the biggest reasons behind their inconsistency.

Things are starting to move in the right direction in that regard. But at the same time, the club have fresh injury problems as well.

Tomas Cvancara is dealing with a groin issue. It could need surgery. And if that does turn out to be the case, we won't see him in a Celtic jersey again. The chances that the club will sign him on a permanent basis after his underwhelming loan spell are slim to none.

On the other hand, Cameron Carter-Vickers joined training recently, after several months injured. That has raised hopes over a return but that is still quite some distance away. Will he be involved before the end of the season? That is not certain yet.

Callum Osmand has not featured since November. The young striker had impressed immensely before picking up a long-term injury. But he is now closing in on a return as well. He is believed to be closer than Carter-Vickers at the moment.

None of those three will feature against Hibernian at the weekend though. But one who might is Alistair Johnston.

The Canadian international has dealt with two long-term injuries this season. So, he needs to be gradually eased back into things.

If the situation permits, there is a good chance that he will make another appearance off the bench but do not expect him to be starting on the day, or for a little while yet.

In terms of fresh updates, that is all there is regarding the Hibernian vs Celtic game set to be played at Easter Road on Sunday.

Celtic will go into it knowing that they need all three points. And it remains to be seen if they are capable of pulling off a win away from home against Hibernian, who have already been them this season.
