There is some brilliant news for Celtic after what had been a frustrating few days for the supporters.

Celtic fans have not been happy with how things have been handled since the arrival of Martin O'Neill was confirmed. Once again, there seems to be a lack of urgency at the club.

This is an important summer transfer window for them. Key players are expected to leave and will need to be replaced.

Even more importantly, they will need to find a way to improve the squad after what was an underwhelming 25/26 campaign. That is easier said than done, especially if the likes of Daizen Maeda, Arne Engels, Benjamin Nygren and more end up leaving.

Amid all this, there is some positive news for Celtic. It looks like the coaching situation is finally set to be sorted.

Even though O'Neill's arrival had been confirmed, there was uncertainty around his coaching team. The suggestion was that the club had offered lower wages to Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham. Fortunately, it looks like middle ground has been found since then.

According to The Celtic Way, the Hoops were initially a distance apart in negotiations with Maloney and Fotheringham. But a deal is now close to being struck.

That will be music to the ears of Celtic fans. Maloney and Fotheringham played key roles in Celtic's success last season.

O'Neill was very open in admitting the extent of their importance to the team's coaching. So, Celtic definitely need to make sure that those two remain part of the Northern Irish manager's staff. And it looks like that is going to happen.

Unfortunately, O'Neill might not be able to retain his entire coaching team though. Gavin Strachan, who has been at Celtic since 2020, could be on his way down south.

Reports over the last few days have suggested that an agreement has been reached with West Bromwich Albion. Strachan will be joining the club to take the next step in his coaching journey.

We would like to wish him all the best. And it will be very interesting to see who Celtic replace Strachan with.

It is pretty much a changing of the guard at Celtic when it comes to the coaching side of things. John Kennedy left alongside Brendan Rodgers. Now, Strachan is heading for the exit door as well.

Strachan had joined the club in 2020 and he was not a popular figure early on, as the 20/21 campaign was a complete failure for Celtic. But he stayed put and has played his part in five consecutive league-winning campaigns since then.
