The Rangers fans have reacted after the SPFL sided with Celtic in their ticket allocation decision.

There are merely four games left in the league this season. And it is still impossible to predict where the Premiership trophy is headed at the end of the campaign. This is the tightest title race in Scottish football in decades. Somehow, Hearts are still in the lead, sitting three points ahead of Celtic, who are now in second, and four points in front of the Rangers.

Most fans would have expected Hearts to drop out of the race by now. And for a little while, it had looked to be so. But Celtic's struggles under Wilfried Nancy appeared to boost their confidence and gave them a second wind. They have not let up since and deserve their fair share of credit for the season they have had, doing the unthinkable and challenging the two Glasgow giants.

With all three of the teams set to face off in the post-split fixtures, there could be plenty more twists and turns in this title race yet.

Rangers' visit to Celtic Park is going to be a vital game for sure. And the storyline surrounding the matchup got even more interesting as the Hoops decided that they did not want the Union Bears in attendance.

Unsurprisingly, the Rangers did not agree. But now, it looks like the SPFL have decided to side with Celtic as well.

According to BBC Sport, Rangers had referred the matter to the SPFL board. A sub-committee concluded it would "not overrule" a risk assessment carried out by Celtic.

It is now for the Rangers to decide if the allocation will be taken. Celtic will not sell those tickets to the home fans.

Naturally, Rangers fans were not happy with the SPFL's decision. One of their supporters wrote: "I honestly think our league couldn't be any worse, then it does."

There are also those who are trying to find a silver lining in all of this. One wrote: "This could be a good thing, the Green Brigade will now be banned from most grounds in the SPFL thanks to this precedent by the SPFL."

Well, it remains to be seen what the Rangers decide to do with the allocation. At the end of the day, that is not going to have any significant impact on the result.

It is up to the two sides to decide the game on the pitch. Obviously, the home fans will be hoping for Celtic to come out on top. Three points in the Glasgow Derby would be a massive step forward for them in the league title race.

Celtic have had their issues dealing with the Rangers in recent times though. They have not been able to beat them inside 90 minutes in their previous nine meetings across all competitions. Their three wins over that run have either come on penalties or in extra time.

On the other hand, the Rangers have won thrice. And three games have ended in a draw. Celtic will be hoping it is the tenth time lucky for them.
