There is some fantastic late-night transfer news for Celtic, as it looks like the next signing is now only a matter of time.
So far in this summer transfer window, Celtic have shown that they recognise the need to strengthen in the forward areas of the pitch. There is a reason that the club struggled so badly in front of goal last season and had to squeeze out wins pretty much every week.
On top of that, they had lost arguably their two best players in the form of Daizen Maeda and Kelechi Iheanacho. They had been absolutely clutch in the title run-in.
Naturally, Celtic signed a couple of strikers in return. Camilo Duran was brought in from Qarabag and scored three goals in three games in pre-season.
Kasper Hogh also became the record signing in Celtic history. And he seems to be backing it up, as he scored a hat-trick at the weekend against Kilmarnock.
Having strengthened up top, it looks like Celtic are now moving their attention towards the flanks and their chase for the third signing of the window is entering its final steps.
Celtic medical looks set
According to a report from Michael Shearer on CeltsAreHere, Haissem Hassan is set for a Celtic medical. The Egyptian winger is expected to travel to the UK on Tuesday as his proposed move to the Scottish champions enters its final steps.
Sources close to Real Oviedo have indicated to the outlet that Hassan is expected to be in the UK on Tuesday. The transfer is now very close to completion.
Of course, it is not all set in stone just yet. The final steps still need to be completed, and the results of the medical matter as well. But for all intents and purposes, one can expect to see Hassan in a Celtic shirt in a matter of days, if not hours.
This is a move that Celtic have been chasing going back to the early phase of the World Cup. But then, Hassan produced that electric performance against Argentina.
Many fans would have thought that that display alone might end up costing Celtic the chance to sign him as other clubs would swoop in.
Celtic avoid last-minute transfer collapse
In recent days, reports in France had emerged suggesting that Marseille were keeping an eye out for the Egyptian winger as well.
As a result, there had been fears that Celtic's work could get undone and a transfer could collapse in the final steps. But fortunately, it looks like that is not going to happen.
It would now be considered a surprise if Hassan did not end up becoming a Celtic player. Of course, it is never done until officially confirmed. But the fans have every reason to feel that they now know the identity of the Hoops' third signing of the summer.
