The Celtic player was slammed for his performance in the 2-0 loss against Falkirk.
Celtic have only won three of their last 10 games across all competitions. That is not something you ever expect from the dominant force in Scottish football.
Not all of those defeats and draws have come in Europe either. The latest was a 2-0 loss at the hands of a mid-table Falkirk side in what was another toothless performance from Martin O'Neill's side.
At this point in time, it is hard to see a way forward for this team. But then again, it is also hard to imagine that the board are even close to making a decision on O'Neill.
Just look back at the 20/21 campaign with Neil Lennon in charge. Ultimately, it was the manager who walked away in February. The board has rarely been quick when it comes to making these quick decisions.
Celtic player slammed for performance against Falkirk
Obviously, there were not many who covered themselves in glory with their performance in the away defeat to Falkirk. But even then, there were some who were particularly bad on the day.
Cameron Carter-Vickers is someone who grabbed the headlines recently for his comments regarding the team's tactical setup. His own displays need a lot of improving though.
Carter-Vickers, once considered the best defender in Scottish football, has dealt with a lot of injuries over the years. And he might no longer be the player we once knew.
Callum Boyle gave him a 2/10 rating for his performance against Falkirk and wrote about the display: "One of his worst games in a Celtic shirt. While his comments in the media may have been justified, Carter-Vickers did not back that up on the pitch. Mistake after mistake and basic errors all over."
How do Celtic fix themselves?
At the moment, it is hard to see the way forward for this Celtic team. A lot of people will point towards changing the manager. Perhaps that is part of the solution. But it won't magically solve all of the Hoops' issues.
There is a need to address how weak this squad is as well. Every summer, we have seen top-quality players leave in big-money moves and they have not been properly replaced. The recruitment department's record has not been up to the mark.
In other cases, the decisions have been inexplicable, like not bringing back Kelechi Iheanacho or Marcelo Saracchi despite playing key roles last season.
Overall, that has meant that the squad that is in place might no longer be good enough to deliver results on a consistent basis, even domestically.
For far too long, the club have looked towards short-term fixes and signing youngsters for small fees, hoping they develop into starters and can be moved on for profits. But gradually, the squad has gotten worse over time as a result of that strategy.
