The Scottish FA have made an announcement regarding the upcoming Falkirk vs Celtic game.

Having dropped points in their previous outing, a 2-2 draw against Dundee United, Celtic must ensure that they take home all three points when they take on Falkirk.

Obviously, that is far easier said than done. Celtic have struggled against almost all opposition in recent times, whether that be their title challengers or teams near the bottom of the table.

Falkirk are somewhere in the middle of the pack. They currently sit in 6th in the Premiership table and have reason to be satisfied with the start they have made this season.

Scottish FA make Falkirk vs Celtic announcement

The Scottish FA have announced the officials for the game between Celtic and Falkirk. Duncan Nicholson has been named as the referee on the day.

Nicholson will have Frank Connor and Daniel McFarlane as his two assistants. Daniel Graves has been named the fourth official for the game.

Kevin Clancy has been given the responsibility of being on VAR duty. He will be assisted by Duncan Williams.

Both sets of fans will be hoping that this is a game that has no controversial calls and the best team comes out on top, if there proves to be one.

Obviously, Celtic have been at the end of some poor decisions in recent weeks. One instance that comes to mind is the penalty that they were denied at Fir Park against Motherwell.

One would hope that there are no such calls made by the officials when Celtic try to get the better of Falkirk in their own backyard.

Celtic must win at Falkirk

Celtic need a convincing display badly. When they won 7-1 vs Hearts, the hope was that it would turn out to be the performance that completely turned things around for the Hoops.

It has been back to square one for Celtic since then, as they have managed a win, a defeat and a draw in the three games that have followed since then.

There have been bright sparks here and there. Camilo Duran continues to impress. And there have been some more decent performances here and there from the rest of the squad. But overall, it just does not look like a team that is sure of itself.

Unfortunately, there is little room for second-guessing in a title race that is as close as this one. Celtic will need to win as many games as they can, even if they struggle to perform at the highest level.
