The Scottish FA have made an official announcement regarding the upcoming League Cup match between Celtic and Dundee United.

Celtic impressed everybody with their performance last week, as they beat Kilmarnock 5-1. Their record signing, Kasper Hogh, scored a first-half hattrick to announce his arrival in Scottish football after some questions have been raised following a tough debut the week earlier.

Another fellow summer arrival, Camilo Duran, managed to make an impact despite playing out wide, as he provided an assist on the day.

So, the new signings are making their presence felt. And since then, a couple more have been added to Celtic's ranks.

Haissem Hassan has arrived from Real Oviedo and Mika Baur has been brought in from SC Paderborn. On the other hand, it looks like Arne Engels will be a West Ham United player very soon.

Amid all this, Celtic need to maintain their focus on the next game, which is the League Cup matchup against Dundee United away at Tannadice Park.

Scottish FA announce officials for Dundee United vs Celtic

The Scottish FA have officially announced Steven McLean as the referee for the League Cup matchup between Celtic and Dundee United.

McLean will have Ross Macleod and Ross Nelson as his two assistant referees. Ross Hardie will be the fourth official on the day.

Greg Aitken will be the one on VAR duty and he will be assisted by Duncan Williams for the Tannadice Park fixture.

What Celtic need to do against Dundee United

Dundee United have already gotten a result against the Rangers this season, drawing in the opening league fixture of the campaign.

So, at home, they might feel that they are good enough to get something against Celtic as well. Now, it is up to the Hoops to prove them wrong.

Celtic need to do the exact same thing that they did against Kilmarnock, go away from home and put the game to bed as soon as possible.

If they allow things to drag on, anything can happen in a cup tie. So, hopefully, the Hoops will come out of the blocks quickly.

It will be very interesting to see whether Hassan and Baur are involved on the day or not. They arrived just days ago. So, at best, one should expect an appearance off the bench, if that.

As for those missing, Alistair Johnston will leave a gap in the backline for Celtic. And at this point, he has to be considered as injury-prone as Kieran Tierney. So, one can only hope that Celtic sign a quality cover option before the transfer window closes. But this could be a chance for Colby Donovan to show that they have the answer already.
