The Scottish FA have made an official announcement for the Celtic vs Hearts game, which will decide the Premiership title.

It has all come down to this. Celtic vs Hearts on the final day of the season. The winner will be crowned the champions of Scotland. If the game ends in a draw, Derek McInnes' side will come out on top as they are a point ahead at the moment.

Celtic have done brilliantly to take the title race to this point. At one point, they had looked down and out. But now, they need to take that one final step.

They do have the home advantage. And a lot of people are viewing them as favourites. But it would be a mistake to count this Hearts team out.

Many had already made that mistake earlier in the season. They were supposed to drop out of the title race after a while, just like Aberdeen last season. But they did not. They kept on winning and are now on the verge of history.

If Hearts avoid defeat today, they will be the first team to end Celtic and Rangers' hold over the league in over four decades. The last one to do so was Aberdeen, then managed by a certain Alex Ferguson.

It is safe to say that a lot is riding on this final league game of the season. This is the closest Premiership title race in decades and should only grow interest in the Scottish game from across the globe.

The Scottish FA have announced the officials for the game between Celtic and Hearts. Don Robertson will be the referee. Calum Spence and David Roome will be his assistants. Kevin Clancy is going to be on VAR duty, assisted by Matthew MacDermid.

A lot of the focus will be on the officiating of the game as well. There was controversy in the previous matchday as Celtic were handed a penalty deep into added time against Motherwell while the score was tied 2-2.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored to make it 3-2. That meant that Celtic went from needing to beat Hearts by three goals on the final day of the season to just having to win against them.

But as we have already mentioned, that is easier said than done. Celtic will need to bring their A-game today, if they want to be crown champions of Scotland for the fifth straight time.

This is also set to be Martin O'Neill's final game in charge at Celtic Park, a story that has somewhat gotten lost in the mix with the title up for grabs. The team should try to say goodbye in the best way possible, by winning the 74-year-old manager one final league title.
