It looks like another Celtic transfer move is on the verge of completion and a medical has already been booked.

Celtic have made some positive moves in the transfer market lately. Camilo Duran has already been signed. And with the start of the season just two weeks away, expect more fresh faces to arrive soon.

One of them could be Haissem Hassan. The Egyptian winger caught the eye at the World Cup and Celtic look like the favourites to sign him.

Reports emerged yesterday that talks had been advancing and something could be in place by next week if things go according to plan.

On the other hand, some exits seem to be on the verge of happening as well. One player who many fans might have wanted to see get a chance next season appears to be on his way out.

Medical booked as Celtic exit now close

According to Meczyki, Maik Nawrocki is expected to join Lens. The player is expected to be in France for scheduled medicals. His transfer is expected to be announced on Friday.

That goes to show how highly Nawrocki continues to be rated, despite his underwhelming spell at Celtic.

He spent the previous season on loan at Hannover 96. Now, he is headed to join RC Lens, which finished second in Ligue 1 last season. So, he is not joining just any other team in the French league. He is going to one of the very best.

Maik Nawrocki deserved more chances at Celtic

This could very easily turn out to be one move that Celtic end up regretting in the future. The biggest regret could be the fact that Nawrocki never got enough chances.

Let's turn the clock back to Brendan Rodgers' time as manager. There were a few games in which Nawrocki started and did not put a foot wrong.

Yet, that never translated to more game time in the future. On the contrary, he was immediately dropped from the team when others became available.

There were those who had hoped that Martin O'Neill would give him a second chance to show what he is capable of in Celtic colours. But, it looks like the decision had already been made to depart Parkhead.

And to be honest, when an opportunity like Lens comes around, why would Nawrocki take the risk of staying on at Celtic and finding himself on the bench again?

Celtic's recruitment has faced a ton of criticism and rightfully so. But this could be an occasion when they got it absolutely right but the player simply was not allowed the opportunity to shine.
