It looks like the reports regarding Manchester United's interest in the Celtic player were off the mark.

Celtic have signed quite a few players this summer, but it remains to be seen if the quantity matches the quality over time or not.

It would be safe to say that a lot of fans still feel that the Hoops could have done more in the summer transfer window. That being said, one cannot deny that some of the new additions already look class.

The name that comes to mind first in this regard is none other than Camilo Duran. The Colombian striker has been absolutely phenomenal so far.

In fact, a large section of the fanbase believes that he should continue to lead the line as the number 9 even when record signing Kasper Hogh returns to full fitness. That is how impressive Duran has been.

Are Manchester United really interested in Duran?

Of course, that has come with transfer rumours already. Manchester United were said to be keeping an eye on Duran. But as it turns out, that might have been off the mark.

According to journalist Fuad Alakbarov, he has checked with Azerbaijani media regarding reports linking Duran with Manchester United.

The claim that Manchester United scouts are monitoring Duran has proved to be false. As a result, the journalist has deleted his previous tweet.

Celtic fans will be relieved to hear that. The last thing the club needs is for Duran to be linked with top clubs already and have his head turned as a result.

Duran looks destined for a big-money move away

The reality of the Celtic transfer model is that almost every top performer eventually ends up leaving. And after the start Duran has enjoyed, it would not come as a surprise if he joins that list soon.

It is about timing and everybody has a different timeline. For example, the likes of Arne Engels and Jota left after just two quality seasons in Celtic colours.

On the other hand, players like Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda remained at the club for four and a half years, and as a result, the transfer fees were not as high when they eventually left. But at their peak, Celtic could have easily pocketed twice what they did.

Anyways, for now, Duran is a Celtic player and hopefully, he will remain so for years to come. His start has been phenomenal but he needs to continue on this path. We have seen players like Luis Palma enjoy brilliant starts only to fade away over time.

The upcoming games against Rangers are a good chance for Duran to establish himself as a top player for Celtic.
