UEFA have made an official announcement regarding the Champions League play-off second leg between Celtic and LASK.
Celtic are heavy favourites to go through to the Champions League main phase when they take on LASK tonight in the second leg of their play-off tie.
They won the first leg 3-0 at Parkhead. But of course, that does not mean that they can afford to take things lightly and play tonight on first gear.
Celtic have had historical problems when it comes to Champions League qualification rounds. The last time they managed to go through was back in 2017.
They went past Astana in the play-off round back then, and even on that occasion, they conceded four goals. So, it can definitely happen, and has in the past. So, Celtic have to put their best foot forward.
UEFA make LASK vs Celtic announcement
According to UEFA's official website, Szymon Marciniak will be the referee for the night. He will have Tomasz Listkiewicz and Adam Kupsik as assistants. Paweł Raczkowski will be the fourth official.
In terms of VAR, Pol van Boekel will be the one in charge. And he will be assisted by Pawel Malec.
Of course, both sets of fans will be hoping for a match in which the refereeing decisions do not end up having an effect on the result of the game.
Tonight's result will be vital for Celtic
It goes without saying that is going to be a major financial boost for Celtic if they can secure qualification to the Champions League.
It means £40 million without a ball being kicked. But by the end of the group phase, that money can reach upwards of £70 million.
Obviously, that is significant money for Celtic. And if they can secure Champions League qualification tonight, it might end up dictating what they do in the remainder of the summer transfer window.
Right now, the club are being linked with multiple names already. It is believed that Landon Emenalo of Chelsea will be signed on loan for the season to fill the left-back spot.
On the other hand, Niko Sigur could come in to take Alistair Johnston's place at right-back as the Canadian international is expected to be out for the next few months. He is also very capable of playing in midfield.
Speaking of the midfield, there are multiple midfielders seemingly on the radar of Celtic. Gvidas Gineitis of Torino is one of them. It has been suggested that the club will make a move for him if Champions League qualification is secured.
