Hull City have secured a lucrative contract with Konstantinos Tzolakis, but Olympiacos president Evangelos Marinakis is holding out to get a better deal from his transfer.

Hull City agree on personal terms with Olympiacos goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis. However, there is still a major gap to be bridged by the two sides on transfer fees.

According to an update by Kostas Lianos, Olympiacos president Evangelos Marinakis keeps on negotiating with newly promoted Premier League side Hull City for the sale of Konstantinos Tzolakis. Medical examinations were expected to be completed for the player today, but no confirmation has arrived, as an agreement on transfer fees between the clubs remains elusive.

While The Tigers have agreed on a contract worth a salary of £45,000 per week with the Greek goalkeeper (as reported by Kostas Lianos in another update), the Red and Whites' management has seen this as an opportunity to press forward their demands to get the maximum out of their youth academy graduate.

Olympiacos have decided to be patient with this deal as they reportedly want more than the initial 20 million euros offered for the homegrown talent. The details of the potential asking price have stayed undisclosed for the most part, but it could also be that the Greek giants are demanding favourable bonuses, which will secure a long-term financial gain for the club.

Tzolakis was part of Olympiacos' domestic successes over the years since he was promoted to the senior team from the youth ranks. He was the undisputed hero of the Red and Whites' UEFA Conference League triumph in 2024, as he made crucial saves in the semi-final and the final to hand his side a piece of European silverware.

As per an earlier report on Roundtable, the Piraeus-based side is exploring the option of buying Fenerbahce goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic this summer to replace the outgoing Tzolakis. If Hull City and Olympiacos agree on terms this week, the signing of the Croatian star will become a concrete possibility next week.

Thrylos are open to paying the 4 to 5 million euros transfer fees set by the Turkish side for the former Dinamo Zagreb man. However, potential competition could arrive from Premier League outfit Crystal Palace, which registered a primary interest in the player a few days back.

Apart from Livakovic, Olympiacos have also identified San Lorenzo and Paraguay goalkeeping star Orlando Gill. The player is back from a reasonably well World Cup campaign, during which they knocked Germany out from the competition in the Round of 32, but fell prey to a Didier Deschamps-led France.
