Levski Sofia rebuffed Olympiacos' opening bid for Algerian midfielder Akram Bouras, as the Greek giants continue to assess market opportunities this transfer window.

Olympiacos have had their first official offer for Bulgarian outfit Levski Sofia to sign Akram Bouras this summer rejected.

According to a report by French journalist Nabil Djelit via Sport24.gr, Levski Sofia declined to accept Olympiacos' first offer to seal the transfer of Akram Bouras.

The Bulgarian side wants to keep the player in their squad for the upcoming season, but the Red and Whites from Greece have identified him as a priority midfield signing.

The deal is not expected to be closed at this point, as a significant proposal could well open up the possibility of landing the Algerian international. Bouras began his youth career with ES Setif in Algeria and then played for CR Belouizdad for four seasons. He signed a three-year contract with MC Alger in August 2024, but got himself transferred to Levski Sofia in 2025.

A revised offer from Olympiacos for the 24-year-old midfielder could arrive in the coming days, but no concrete reports indicate that for now. However, this rejected bid confirms Thrylos' interest in stabilising their engine room with a high-level midfield signing.

In other news, the Piraeus giants are readying a €7 million offer to secure the signing of FC Porto left-back Francisco Moura, according to an earlier report on Roundtable. Olympiacos want to take him on a season-long loan deal this summer, while agreeing on a predetermined transfer fee for a permanent move next year.

The Portuguese club, however, intend to offload the player with a definite sale in this transfer window without waiting for the funds on a later date. Porto are aware of Olympiacos' interest in landing Moura, as they are looking for a reinforcement in the left-back position due to Francisco Ortega's imminent transfer to his former Argentine side River Plate.

The Greek giants have also lined up a potential left-back replacement in Matias Viña, a Flamengo loanee at River Plate, who has 44 caps for his national team, Uruguay, and has scored 1 goal.

The 28-year-old remains on Olympiacos' shortlist, but no offer has been made by the club, as the player is set to remain on loan until the end of this year.

Head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar and his management continue to probe market opportunities, and Olympiacos fans can expect at least two new signings soon, with two roles to be filled at the club. It has been a rather loud transfer window for the club, but surely one that could decide much in this upcoming season.
