MLS side Sporting Kansas City battles Wolves for Olympiacos winger Andre Luiz as a staggering €17.5 million bid forces the Greek giants to weigh a massive summer profit.

MLS club Sporting Kansas City send a bid to Olympiacos for Andre Luiz as Wolverhampton Wanderers suffer a setback.

According to an update by Nikos Kotsis via Thrylos 7 International, Sporting Kansas City have sent an offer to the Greek giants in the region of 17.5 million euros for securing the services of Andre Luiz.

The Flamengo youth academy graduate has found it tough to settle at Olympiacos since his arrival in the winter transfer window of 2026. Despite having a stellar season with Portuguese top-flight outfits Rio Ave, Luiz has managed to get only eight appearances in head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar's system.

The Greek journalist claims that the offer the MLS side's offer for the Brazilian international could go well beyond the 20 million euros in the total package. Negotiations are underway between the two clubs, and Wolves' proposal of 15 million euros has been rejected by the Red and Whites.

As per an earlier report covered by Roundtable, Thrylos received an offer of 16 million euros in the last few days, which was rumoured to have come from the Molineux Stadium dwellers. However, the update confirmed that an undisclosed club sent that bid, distancing Wolves from the proceedings.

The 24-year-old was purchased from Rio Ave in January for €6.75 million plus bonuses. No bonuses have been triggered till now.

The Black Country side intend to heavily reinforce their squad ahead of the new Championship season after suffering relegation last campaign from the Premier League. They are not looking for a long stay in the second division, so Luiz has become a priority target for them as a winger who can change the game and stretch the opposition defense.

Sporting Kansas City do not have an agreement in place with Olympiacos as of now, and they will need to pursue talks with them to get hold of the player. Wolves remain in the running, and they are expected to come back with a renewed offer to match the American side's bid.

In other news, Olympiacos have submitted an improved offer for Coventry City target and PFC Ludogorets Razgrad attacking midfielder Petar Stanic. A bid in the region of 8 million euros has been sent to the Bulgarian side as president Evangelos Marinakis wants to complete his signing soon without attracting much competition from other European clubs. Stanic finished last season as the joint top scorer of the Europa League, scoring seven goals alongside Nottingham Forest's Igor Jesus.
