Olympiacos have launched an €8 million-plus bid to Ludogorets in an attempt to hijack the Serbian playmaker from Coventry City, moving to the brink of a major summer breakthrough.
Greek outfits Olympiacos have shown a clear intent in bringing Coventry City target and PFC Ludogorets Razgrad attacking midfielder Petar Stanic to the club.
According to the latest report by Nikos Kotsis of Sport24.gr, the Red and Whites have sent a renewed offer exceeding their previous valuation of 8 million euros to Ludogorets recently to facilitate the signing of Petar Stanic this summer.
This updated proposal seems to be an extremely tempting one to the Bulgarian side, who believe that Olympiacos have reached their demands. However, official confirmation remains from the Razgrad-based club as the Piraeus side are yet to be given the green light to enter contract negotiations with the player.
This development is a massive boost to Olympiacos' transfer plans for the summer transfer window, as they have practically snatched this signing from the grasp of newly promoted Premier League side Coventry City. Frank Lampard's club bowed out of the race late last month when Thrylos president Evangelos Marinakis made the Serbian international's signing a priority for his team, per an earlier report by Roundtable.
Stanic finished as the joint top scorer in the 2025/26 edition of the UEFA Europa League alongside Nottingham Forest's Igor Jesus, netting seven goals in ten matches of the tournament. The 25-year-old has made over 30 appearances for The Eagles since joining the club in 2025 from FK TSC, scoring nine times across all competitions. The midfielder has also gone on to earn three caps with the Serbia U21 side and two with the senior team.
Negotiations between Olympiacos and Ludogorets are believed to be in an advanced stage and an agreement will be reached at any moment. The Red and Whites are ready to meet Stanic's demands too, as they will not have any problems fitting him into the team due to a significant history of scouting him for the present squad and achieving future goals.
Apart from Stanic, Olympiacos have made an official move to acquire the services of Joel Roca from Spanish second division side Girona FC. While an agreement on transfer fees is yet to be made between the two sides, talks are progressing without much roadblocks as the front remains entirely open.
In other news, former Nottingham Forest winger Jota Silva was unveiled as a new Olympiacos player after his lawyer arrived late to sign the documents to complete the process. The Portuguese man expressed his desire to leave for Forest's sister club in Piraeus this summer for better game time, and the transfer was made without much of a delay.
