The Blue Jays had more finalists for the annual award than any other team in the American League

The Toronto Blue Jays are one day out from competing in the third World Series in franchise history.

The Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers will play Game 1 of the World Series at 8 p.m. ET on Friday at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

It's the most successful season for Toronto since 1993 — where the team won the second of back-to-back championships. That year was also the last the club won the pennant.

The Blue Jays finished the regular season with a 94-68 record and earned the No. 1 seed in the American League.

Toronto beat its American League East rivals, the New York Yankees, in five games in an American League Divisional Series. It then came out on the winning end of the one of the best American League Championship Series in recent memory against the Seattle Mariners — which went a full seven games.

The Blue Jays were led to success, in part, by one of the most efficient and aggressive lineups in baseball, and the hitters were recognized for their effort with an AL-leading five nominations for the Silver Slugger award. The finalists were revealed Thursday.

Here's an overview of the Toronto finalists for the Silver Slugger awards:

    Vladimir Guerrero Jr., first base

Guerrero, who recently won the ALCS MVP award, will have a chance to add to his trophy case in just his first season after signing a 14-year, $500 million contract in the offseason.

Guerrero scored 96 times in 156 games and hit 34 doubles and 23 home runs with 84 RBIs. He slashed .292/.381/.467 with an .848 OPS.

    Bo Bichette, shortstop

Bichette had a bounce-back 2025 after an injury-plagued 2024 that limited him to just 81 games and a .225/.277/.322 slash line.

This year, Bichette crossed home plate 78 times in 139 games and hit 44 doubles, a triple and 18 homers with 94 RBIs. He slashed .311/.357/.483 with an .840 OPS.

    George Springer, outfield/designated hitter

Springer was another player who had a bounce-back year this year after a down 2024. He hit the go-ahead, three-run home run for the Blue Jays in their 4-3 win in Game 7 of the ALCS against the Mariners.

For his efforts this year, Springer earned Silver Slugger nominations as both an outfielder and designated hitter.

Springer scored 106 runs in 140 games and connected for 27 doubles, a triple and 32 homers with 84 RBIs. He slashed .309/.399/.560 with a .959 OPS.

    Toronto Blue Jays, team nomination

Toronto was one of three teams in the AL to earn the team nomination for the award. The other two were Seattle and New York.

As a unit, the Blue Jays scored 798 runs in the regular season and hit 294 doubles, 13 triples and 191 home runs with 771 RBIs. The club slashed .265/.333/.427 with a .760 OPS.

The team's collective batting average and on-base percentage led the majors.
