The Boston Red Sox swept the San Francisco Giants in a three-game weekend set at Fenway Park. However, down on the farm, Roman Anthony, Trevor Story and Isiah Kiner-Falefa have been working their way back from injury, setting out on rehab assignments over the last week. 

Here’s what you need to know about their performances: 

After landing on the injured list with a ligament tear in his right ring finger in early May, the 22-year-old Anthony kicked off his assignment with Double-A Portland on Tuesday, going 2-for-2 with a mammoth two-run home run and a single, while working two walks. After a day off on Wednesday to see how his finger responded to game action, he was back in the lineup playing back-to-back on Thursday and Friday. Anthony played left field on Thursday before serving as the designated hitter on Friday. After a day off on Saturday, Anthony was back in the lineup, playing left field on Sunday afternoon. 

Overall, Anthony has gone 3-for-11 with a home run, double and three RBI, while walking twice and striking out four times. As noted by MassLive.com’s Chris Cotillo, interim manager Chad Tracy told reporters on Sunday that the 22-year-old will join Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday to continue his rehab assignment. 

The 33-year-old shortstop has been out of the Red Sox lineup since May 14 after undergoing sports hernia surgery. He joined Worcester on Aug. 16 to begin his assignment, going 1-for-2 while playing four innings at shortstop. His best performance thus far came on Wednesday, when he went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and an RBI. 

Overall, Story has played six games with Worcester, where he has struggled to a slash line of .190/.190/.190/.380 in 21 at-bats, while striking out 23.8 percent of the time. According to the Boston Globe’s Alex Speier, Story will be reevaluated back in Boston before the team determines if he will continue on his rehab assignment or join the major league club in Miami as they take on the Marlins. 

The veteran utility man landed on the injured list on June 20 after suffering from a stress reaction in his left forearm, which he attributed to swinging the bat too hard. Kiner-Falefa joined Story in Worcester on Wednesday night to kick off his own rehab assignment, going 1-for-3 with a run scored, playing second base. 

Like Story, the 31-year-old Kiner-Falefa hasn’t found much success at the plate in Triple-A as he’s gone just 1-for-13 while walking twice and striking out four times over four games played. He’ll join Story back in Boston to be reevaluated before it’s determined whether he’ll rejoin the major league club or continue his rehab. 

After a 5-1 homestand against the Diamondbacks and Giants, the Red Sox will kick off a seven-game road trip beginning on Monday night in Miami against the Marlins. Ranger Suarez (5-3, 3.41 ERA) will get the start for Boston opposite former National League Cy Young Award winner Sandy Alcantara (13-8, 3.46 ERA) for Miami. First pitch from Loan Depot Park is set for 6:40 p.m. ET.
