LaMonte Wade Jr. is shining with the Astros

The Houston Astros have picked up quite a few former Chicago White Sox players this season.

They snagged outfielder Dustin Harris when the Sox designated him for assignment, They've been employing Braden Shewmake for most of the season, and now they've given LaMonte Wade Jr. a roster spot.

Wade was released on June 1 as part of the opt-out in his contract and signed an MLB deal with the Astros on June 4. He has played in two games and is 3-for-9 with a home run since signing that contract.

He was really good in the minor leagues with the White Sox, with a .861 OPS. Chicago just didn't have anywhere to play him, seeing as he's mostly limited to first base, and the outfield is already competitive enough.
