With the 2025 college football season in the books, the Florida Gators and newly-hired head coach Jon Sumrall are now focusing on building the team’s roster for the 2026 season this offseason.
The Gators’ offense was one of the worst in the SEC last year, averaging 341.3 yards per game and 204.6 passing yards per game. Luckily, Sumrall’s efforts to retain some of the top wideouts from former head coach Billy Napier’s regime, along with using the transfer portal, has created one of the most underrated groups in the nation.
Here are some of the top Florida wide receivers to watch for in 2026:

Florida’s leader in receiving yards last season was Vernell Brown III, a newcomer and former five-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. While Brown did not record a touchdown in his freshman year, the Florida native still managed to record 512 receiving yards on 40 catches. With Sumrall bringing in a new regime for the offense, it’s clear that Brown will once again be a difference-maker for the Gators in 2026.
In addition to Brown, rising sophomore Dallas Wilson and soon-to-be redshirt junior TJ Abrams are poised for larger roles on offense next year. Wilson managed to carve out a role for himself as a freshman, finishing his first season with 12 catches for 239 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

One of the biggest names to join the Gators via the portal is former Auburn standout Eric Singleton Jr.
The senior pass catcher spent his first two seasons with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets under newly-hired offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner, tallying 1,468 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Singleton is coming off a down season with the Tigers, but the reunion with his former offensive coordinator should lead to brighter days for the stout playmaker.
Along with Singleton, Sumrall also landed four additional wide receivers in the portal this offseason, including Wake Forest’s Micah Mays Jr., Georgia Tech’s Bailey Stockton, and Oklahoma State’s Jaylen Lloyd. The group of recent signees will provide enough veteran depth for the Gators’ wide receiving corps.
