The Seminoles men's basketball head coach secured a huge portal commitment from a past All-Conference standout.

Florida State men's basketball scoured the portal for new scorers.

Head coach Luke Loucks and the Seminoles landed one of their biggest finds via the mid-major realm.

Kameron Taylor brings a high-volume scoring presence over to Tallahassee. He's leaving UNC-Asheville hitting an average of 18.9 points per game.

Taylor landed on the All-Big South Conference first team for becoming a stout scorer each night. Yet Loucks believes Taylor hasn't played his best basketball yet.

"Kam is a tremendous athlete who is still just scratching the surface of his potential," Loucks said via a school news release

The soon-to-be second-year head coach even delivered this big prediction involving the incoming Seminoles shooter.

"We believe his best basketball is ahead of him," Loucks said.

It's a big take for a talent who's already proven to thrive in a CBB setting. The 6-foot-7 guard produced 20+ point games in 17 contests this past season.

Loucks then dove into what makes Taylor stands out on the court.

"What really separates him is his ability to create; he can make plays for himself and for others, and he has a natural feel for the game with the ball in his hands," Loucks said.

But that's not the only skillset Loucks has become a fan of when it comes to Taylor.

"His combination of elite athleticism and playmaking gives him a chance to impact the game in a big way, and we're excited to help him continue developing in our system," Loucks said.

Taylor wasn't the most sought-after recruit out of Carmel Christian School in Charlotte. Even though he averaged 24.2 points per game with 7.5 rebounds at the prep level.

Yet the Bulldogs took him in and turned him loose on the basketball court. He went on to log 32 games as a starter with 63 games played.

But Taylor ascended the moment he dipped into the portal, rising to four-star status by different national outlets. His 18.9 PPG led the Big South this past season.

Taylor joins a deep portal class in Tallahassee featuring a great mix of power conference, international and junior college talent.

Anthony Robinson II of Missouri and Amare Robinson of Tallahassee State College join Taylor in this portal class. Same with Sebastian Rancik from Colorado, Cooper Schwieger of Wake Forest (also played at Valparaiso) and Shon Abaev of Cincinnati via the power conference realm. Elisee Assui represents the international talent coming over via Italy.
