Three-star offensive lineman Tyi Duncan committed to Memphis, 247Sports’ Tom Loy reported on Wednesday.
Duncan is listed as a three-star recruit by On3, but he isn’t ranked by 247Sports. According to On3, he’s the No. 136 interior offensive lineman and the No. 54 player in the state of Tennessee.
Duncan stands at 6-foot-4 and 348 pounds, and he runs a 5.28 40-yard dash. The 2027 recruit has a nice mix of strength and agility, and he deadlifted 655 pounds in the spring.
The offensive lineman holds 11 offers from Division I teams, and he took an official visit to South Florida last weekend. He took five unofficial visits during the spring, including a visit to Memphis in March.
The offensive lineman also had a handful of Power Four offers and selected the Tigers over offers from Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Oklahoma.
Duncan was back in Memphis earlier this month to participate in Memphis’ mega camp, where he earned an offer from Lindenwood. Now, according to reports, he has committed to the Tigers.
It’s unclear if the offensive lineman will take an official visit to Memphis after committing, like quarterback Ethan Tisdale, who committed in May before taking an official visit in June.
Duncan has played for Antioch and Brentford, and he will play his senior season at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro.
The Tigers now have nine commits in the class, including four offensive linemen. Memphis’ class ranks No. 114 in the country and No. 10 in the conference.
One of the main reasons Charles Huff’s team ranks so low in the American is due to the small current class. All nine teams ahead of the Tigers in the conference rankings have 10 or more recruits, including USF, which already has 19 commits in the 2027 class.
Currently, six of the commits are offensive players, while three play on the defensive side of the ball. Four of the commits are from Tennessee, including a pair of defensive players from Memphis.
Duncan is the fourth player to commit to Huff’s team in the last five days, joining Joshua Lane, Bryson Sanderson and Bradley Stamper. Stamper committed to the program on Tuesday after wrapping up an official visit on Tuesday, becoming the second defensive back to commit to the Tigers.
Duncan becomes the most recent player to commit to Huff’s program, and it will be interesting to see if they add more before the week is over.
