A homegrown four-star talent secures his future with the Miami Hurricanes, providing electrifying plays and bolstering the receiver corps for the upcoming season.

The National Championship was the final game for many impactful players from the Miami Hurricanes, including wide receivers CJ Daniels and Keelan Marion. They were part of the 2025 recruiting class, acquired from the transfer portal, and brought winning, electrifying plays throughout the season.

The program poured into the same successful formula, acquiring a couple of veteran wide receivers from the transfer portal, such as Vandrevius Jacobs from the South Carolina Gamecocks and Cam Vaughn from the West Virginia Mountaineers. However, despite a few departures, a homegrown talent stays put in Joshua Moore.

It was reported on Monday that the 18-year-old is returning for next season. He appeared in 14 games, catching 17 passes for 210 yards, scoring two touchdowns, both coming against the South Florida Bulls.

Moore was a four-star recruit coming out of West Broward High School, catching 100 passes for 1,869 yards and scoring 20 touchdowns in 21 total games. He received tremendous interest and offers from powerhouse programs, such as the Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Ohio State Buckeyes, and others, before committing to the Hurricanes on Oct. 8, 2024.

The Miami native appeared in three of the four College Football Playoff matchups, including the National Championship.

The Hurricanes' wide receiver room will look different as some entered the transfer portal, committing to new programs, such as Chance Robinson and Joshisa “Jojo” Trader to the North Carolina State Wolfpack, Ny Carr to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, and Nathaniel "Ray Ray" Joseph joining the East Carolina Pirates.

Moore has a chance to elevate the depth chart, despite the acquisitions of Vaughn and Jacobs. He was part of the same recruiting class as running back Girard Pringle Jr., safety Byrce Fitzgerald, and wide receivers Daylyn Upshaw and 18-year-old superstar Malachi Toney.

The Hurricanes have taken tremendous pride in developing talent from within and finding success. Edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr., linebacker Wesley Bissainthe, and star running back Mark Fletcher Jr. are the notable pioneers who joined the program as Mario Cristobal's head coaching tenure began.

Moore has an opportunity to add to the new tradition.

Despite falling short of a National Championship, the Hurricanes' reaching the big stage for the first time in over two decades establishes a new standard. The program seeks to remain competitive, not only in the ACC but in the nation.

The future of the program is heading in the right direction, with the 2026-27 schedule coming out on Monday night.
