The Syracuse University men's basketball team earned its second win of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) season on Saturday afternoon by beating Pitt 83-72.
The Orange are now 11-5 overall and 2-1 inside league play. There were lots of good things to take away from the victory, but the most memorable play of the day came from William Kyle III, who wowed the crowd with his emphatic put back dunk, which you can see below:
After the game, Kyle's teammates were talking about the dunk, but during the game, the reactions from the SU bench said it all - and so did the viral reaction from one Pitt cheerleader.
Kyle, a transfer from UCLA, is one of the most athletic big men in the country and he continues to make an impact for the Orange. He had 11 points and four rebounds, and he also registered four steals in the victory. For the season, he's averaging 9.8 ppg and 7.8 rebounds. He's averaging nearly three blocks a game also and really helped hold down the front court in the absence of Donnie Freeman, who missed nine games with a right foot injury.
Freeman has since returned to become one of the best scorers in the nation, and he poured in a team-high 22 points on Saturday.

The Orange are the midst of an extremely winnable slate of games, and they need to take advantage of them. They'll play Florida State on Tuesday night (Jan. 13) at home, and the Seminoles are 0-3 inside league play already. After that, they'll see an also-winless Boston College (0-3) group. Then, it's a Virginia Tech team that is just 2-2.
Syracuse hasn't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2020-21 and if they are to break that drought, they'll have to have an excellent conference season. This early stretch is a way for them to set the tone early on.
