The Bruins didn't have any answers against a stout Huskies defense Saturday

Despite having several starters on both sides of the ball limited or out, the Washington Huskies dominated the UCLA Bruins in a 48-14 on Saturday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. The Huskies improved to 8-3 with the win.

Washington's offense was able to take care of its opportunities, but the defense was the standout from the dominant win against the Bruins.

The Huskies forced three fumbles Saturday in the first half and recovered all three.

The first fumble was forced by freshman safety Rahshawn Clark with 1:59 left in the first quarter and was recovered by a fellow freshman, cornerback Dylan Robinson.

That turnover led to a 36-yard field goal from senior kicker Grady Gross that put Washington in front 3-0 with 49 seconds left in the opening quarter.

The final two fumbles forced by Washington both came in the second quarter, and both resulted in points.

Senior defensive end Deshawn Lynch stripped UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava and recovered the loose ball. That led to a 22-yard field goal by Gross that bolstered the Huskies' advantage to 13-0 with 5:46 left in the first half.

With 1:44 left in the second quarter, junior safety Alex McLaughlin recovered a fumble on a fake Bruins field goal attempt and returned it 59 yards for a touchdown that sent the Huskies into halftime with a 20-0 lead.

Washington's other first-half score came with 14:42 left in the second quarter after sophomore quarterback Demond Williams Jr. scored on a 25-yard keeper on a read option.

The Huskies only continued to add on in the second half.

Williams tacked on a second rushing touchdown, this time an 11-yard scamper, with 10:38 left in the third quarter.

Williams connected with freshman wide receiver Dezmen Roebuck for the former's first passing touchdown of the day. It was a 23-yard connection that gave Washington a 34-0 lead with 5:24 left in the third quarter.

Senior running back Jonah Coleman, who was limited after missing last week's game against Purdue with a knee injury, found the end zone on a one-yard run that resulted in a 41-7 Huskies lead.

Williams capped off the day with a 24-yard touchdown completion to sophomore tight end Decker DeGraaf that resulted in the eventual final of 48-14.

Williams finished 17-of-26 for 213 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He ran six times for 56 yards and two touchdowns.

Roebuck brought in seven passes for 96 yards and a score and sophomore running back Adam Mohammed, who took the majority of backfield snaps with Coleman limited, rushed 21 times for 108 yards.

Washington will conclude its regular season in a Pacific Northwest showdown against No. 7 Oregon at 12:30 p.m. PT on Nov. 29 at Husky Stadium in Seattle.
