In a little more than 24 hours, college basketball will officially be underway in the spiritual capital of the Pacific Northwest.
The Washington Huskies men's basketball team will open the season against Arkansas Pine-Bluff at 8 p.m. PT on Monday at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.
There will be a lot of expectations on the Huskies' men's basketball team this season to exceed the results of the previous year.
In the first season under head coach Danny Sprinkle, Washington finished last in the 18-team Big Ten and missed the cut for the postseason conference tournament.
Sprinkle and the Huskies returned only two players from last year's team: sophomore guard Zoom Diallo and graduate center Franck Kepnang.
Washington received seven votes in the first Associated Press (AP) Top 25 poll, and there's anticipation on what the revamped Huskies team could do in a stacked Big Ten conference.
Whatever the results of the season, the Huskies will have new threads when they hit the court.
The program's official account on "X" (@UW_MBB) introduced four new uniforms for the 2025-26 season.
The team, as it has in seasons past, will have variations of all-white, all-black and purple uniforms, with slightly different or revamped lettering than in previous years. Washington is also introducing a lavender uniform, coupled with lettering/numbering in the university's traditional shade of purple.
The Huskies will likely go with the white uniforms at home and black jerseys on the road, as is the norm for the majority of college programs.
There was no information at the time of the post if there would be certain dates or events Washington would wear the purple or lavender uniforms.
