Fisch had good news on Raiden Vines-Bright after he was taken off the field in an ambulance

The Washington Huskies football team was able to bounce back in a big way after one of the most disappointing losses of the season.

The Huskies dominated the Purdue Boilermakers 49-13 to improve to 7-3 on the season. But the win didn't come without scary moments for Washington.

In the second quarter, freshman wide receiver Raiden Vines-Bright took a hit that left him motionless for an extended period of time. Vines-Bright was taken off the field in an ambulance with teammates, staff and coaches surrounding him.

It was a scary scene for the first-year wideout, but he improved after the game according to head coach Jedd Fisch.

"Raiden is doing good," Fisch said in a postgame news conference Saturday. "From what I understand, everything has checked out at this point in time. Fully mobile, fully awake, fully aware, very precautionary ... he is doing good."

Vines-Bright's mother, Heather Vines-Bright, made a post on "X" thanking the Huskies staff for taking care of Raiden Vines-Bright and the fans for checking in.

"Thank you for the prayers and to everyone that reached out regarding Raiden," Heather Vines-Bright said in the post. "The first thing he asked was 'did" I hold onto the ball?' A true athlete at heart. He is at home recovering. Thank you to (Washington's) staff, you are wonderful and took great care of my boy!"

Vines-Bright is the team's fourth-leading receiver this season. He's caught 22 passes for 226 yards and has received more playing time recently with injuries to junior wide receiver and the team's leading pass-catcher Denzel Boston.

There was no immediate word on Vines-Bright's status for Washington's upcoming games.

The Huskies have two more games left in the regular season: one against UCLA at 7:30 p.m. PT on Nov. 22 in Los Angeles; and one against No. 7 Oregon at a to-be-determined time Nov. 29 at Husky Stadium in Seattle.

Washington became bowl eligible in a 42-25 win against Illinois on Oct. 25, and time will tell how healthy Vines-Bright and the Huskies will be for their postseason game.
