The No. 25 Washington Huskies women's basketball team had an extremely successful first road game of the season to end the week.
The Huskies took down the Utah Utes 72-61 on Nov. 15 in Salt Lake City.
The victory capped off a 2-0 week for Washington, which is 3-0 overall this season.
The Lady Huskies' week began with an 87-56 win against the Montana Grizzlies on Nov. 10 at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, and one of the team's best players had her fingerprints all over both wins, which was recognized by the conference.
Junior guard Sayvia Sellers was named the Big Ten's Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Sellers had two-straight games of 19 points or more against both the Grizzlies and Utes, respectively.
Sellers matched a career-high with 30 points against Utah. She also brought in four rebounds, had two steals and blocked two shots. She put up 19 points and dished five assists against Montana.
Sellers helped lead the Huskies to a strong start to the season despite the absence of another all-conference level player.
Senior guard Elle Ladine is yet to suit up for a game this season due to an undisclosed injury.
Through three games this season, Sellers is averaging 23.3 points per game on 59.2% shooting from the floor in just 24.3 minutes per game. She's also dished 3.7 assists per game, has blocked a shot a game and is averaging two steals a game.
Sellers' performance in the last two games has helped Washington maintain its position in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 poll. The Huskies were ranked 25th in the latest AP poll Monday, the same placement from the last poll.
"I don't think (the top 25 poll is) that important," Sellers said after the game against Montana on Nov. 10 " ... That wasn't our goal, but it's good to get the recognition, I guess. We know we still have a lot of work to do so we can't get complacent. Still take every game seriously and just try to focus on the next game."
Sellers and Washington will look to keep the momentum going, and the team will have a perfect opportunity to do so in its next slate of games.
The Huskies will next be in action against Fresno State at 6 p.m. PT on Nov. 19 at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle. It will be the first of five-straight home games for Washington.
