In a radio appearance on Friday morning, Bills head coach Sean McDermott gave a major update on Josh Allen's playing status against the Jets.

Josh Allen will be "good to go" on Sunday afternoon against the New York Jets.

During a weekly radio appearance on WGR-550 in Buffalo on Friday morning, Bills head coach Sean McDermott was asked about the status the team's star quarterback. McDermott the gave an update that should have Bills fans breathing a sigh of relief.

"He'll be limited today [Friday]," McDermott said. "You know, we wanted to make sure his health was number one the last two days.

McDermott continued: "He had two good days of recovery and today he'll be out there. He'll be limited and he'll be good to go for the game. And we'll take it one day at a time here."

When asked about the plan for how much Allen and the rest of the starters could play against the Jets, McDermott wouldn't commit one way or the other. He said that the team will see how things go on Sunday afternoon.

Allen has been dealing with a foot injury over the last two weeks that has required two sets of X-Rays. After it flared up again against the Philadelphia Eagles, many were concerned about his status not only for the final game of the regular season, but for the playoffs as well.

Should Allen start, and all signs are pointing to that being the case, it will be his 135th consecutive start, including the playoffs. That's currently the longest active streak for a quarterback in the NFL. He's also one touchdown away from tying Aaron Rodgers' NFL record for most seasons with 40 or more touchdowns with six.

The Bills and Jets are scheduled to kick off at 4:25PM ET on Sunday afternoon. Not only is it the final regular season game in the history of the 52-year-old Highmark Stadium, but it also could have some playoff significance.

Should the Bills win, they have the chance to move up to either the fifth or sixth seed in the AFC. To get to the sixth seed, they would need a loss from either the Los Angeles Chargers (against Denver) or Houston Texans (against Indianapolis). Getting the fifth seed requires a loss by both.
