The Buffalo Bills are still in the market for help at wide receiver, and general manager Brandon Beane confirmed that he's had talks to bring back Brandin Cooks.
Just under a month ago, the Buffalo Bills addressed one of their biggest needs by trading for wide receiver DJ Moore from Chicago. But just because they brought in a player like Moore, that doesn't mean they aren't looking at adding to the room.
It could even come from a player who has already spent time with the Bills.
Meeting with the media at the NFL league meetings in Phoenix on Monday, general manager Brandon Beane was asked about the needs at wide receiver and whether a player like Brandin Cooks could still be an option.
Beane said that not only is Cooks a possibility, but he's even had talks with him this spring.
"I've had conversations not only with his agent, but with him as well," Beane said. "Really love what he did for us at the end of the season last year.
"I think, kind of what I said, seeing how the draft falls, seeing what our numbers are. I think that's kind of where he's at, too, making sure he doesn't go somewhere and a team drafts someone high."
Cooks joined Buffalo in November after being granted a release from the New Orleans Saints.
In five regular-season games with the Bills, Cooks had five catches on 11 targets for 114 yards. In two playoff games, he added five more catches on 11 targets for 78 yards.
Of course, Cooks' most infamous moment as a member of the Bills came in overtime of the AFC Divisional Round game against the Denver Broncos. Cooks went up to make a catch on a pass from Josh Allen, only for the ball to be intercepted by Ja'Quan McMillian.
The Bills would lose 33-30, which sparked major changes to the organization as head coach Sean McDermott was fired after nine seasons.
Of the interception, Cooks felt like he made the catch. But, more importantly, he said during an interview shortly after the season ended, he said that he felt like he had let the team, and Allen, down by not securing that pass better.
"That's the feeling I get...it was about the guy that's next to me. And that's the testament of our locker room," he said.
