The Atlanta Falcons host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football after improving to 2-2. Our Falcons Roundtable breaks down Michael Penix Jr.'s impact, Kevin Stefanski's turnaround, Kyle Pitts and how Lamar Jackson's potential absence could affect the Week 5 matchup.
The Atlanta Falcons have bounced back nicely and have moved to 2-2 on the season following a Monday Night Football victory over NFC South rivals New Orleans Saints.
They will look to continue their primetime streak as they will host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. On this week's Falcons Roundtable, the staff discusses the team through the first four games of the season, as well as their thoughts on the upcoming matchup.
The Falcons' offense has certainly changed since Penix has returned to the starting QB. Can it continue?
Michael Brauner: Penix has been doing exactly what the team has needed to and nothing more. If they can continue to run the ball as they have been, there is absolutely no reason why things cannot keep rolling on that side of the ball.
Christian Rauh: It most definitely can. Penix has brought new life to this offense, and it's something this franchise desperately needs.
What are your overall thoughts so far on Kevin Stefanski? Has he exceeded your expectations?
Michael Brauner: Stefanski was exactly what this team needed. I don't put the first two games on him, but I do credit him a ton with the way the squad bounced back from as rough a start to a season as possible.
Christian Rauh: I've always seen Stefanski as an underrated coach, especially after his early success in Cleveland, so the fact that he's turning something around so quickly doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
What is your initial take on the Baltimore Ravens so far this season?
Michael Brauner: Given that it looks like Lamar Jackson will probably be out, it's another excellent opportunity for a win. Tyler Huntley has plenty of experience to get a victory, though, so they must not overlook him.
Christian Rauh: They are still truly a playoff contender. There's no doubt about that, but with Lamar Jackson most likely being out on Sunday Night Football, they are a completely different squad. Derrick Henry will have to pick up the slack, something he could most definitely do, but it'll still be an uphill battle for them against the Falcons' defense.
What is one thing you want to see improve from the Falcons against Baltimore on Sunday night?
Michael Brauner: Continued development of Penix as he gets more comfortable, but it was hard to nitpick anything specific from the Saints win. Just keep doing what you are doing, and great things will continue to happen.
Christian Rauh: As much as the offense has succeeded over the last two weeks, I think there's still a lot more to be uncovered. Kyle Pitts, a senior, still hasn't truly been unleashed since Pennix has returned. I'd like to see that happen on Sunday night.
Predictions for Sunday night football?
Michael Brauner: Falcons 34, Ravens 16. Huntley instead of Jackson changes everything
Christian Rauh: Falcons 31, Ravens 17.
