With Parker Washington's continued production, the Jaguars should be exploring the possibility of extending their fourth-year pass catcher sooner rather than later.

The Jacksonville Jaguars advanced to 4-1 on Sunday in a flag-filled 19-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Jaguars really struggled to convert in the redzone, and committed a season-high 13 penalties for 100 yards, with the offensive line really struggling to time up the snap.

But, it was the leg of kicker Cam Little that came threw as time expired, booming a 57-yard field goal for the victory.

Starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence had a strong statistical day, throwing for 331 yards and two touchdowns and coming through in the clutch.

After multiple failed fourth-down attempts within the ten-yard line, Lawrence finally found pay dirt, connecting with Parker Washington for an incredible 27-yard score.

On yet another fourth-down try, Lawrence gave Washington a 1-on-1 opportunity down the right sideline.

Washington got ahead of his defender and came down with the score with one hand, giving Jacksonville a brief lead.

It was Washington's second score of the game, and more evidence that he has become Lawrence's top target.

Following the win, Washington had nothing but praise for his quarterback, calling him a "great leader."

Lawrence found Washington for six catches and 124 receiving yards,  hooking up with the fourth-year star on multiple big plays.

After his breakout season last year, Washington has quickly grown into one of the most-consistent deep threats in the NFL, with his average of 16 yards per catch ranking No. 11 among all receivers.

Making high-difficulty grabs have also become a normality for Washington, who continues to show his ability to make the catch through contact.

"If it’s in his vicinity, he’s shown he can make just about any play," Lawrence said after their Week 4 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The ongoing contract negotiations between Washington and the front office spanned throughout the offseason, but no agreement was found.

Ahead of Week 1, General Manager James Gladstone assured media that he will not shy away from attempting to extend his young receiver throughout the season, but no further progress has been made.

As Washington continues to prove himself as a bonafide WR1, his price tag is rising on a weekly basis.

Extending him rather than later could save the Jaguars some significant money down the line, especially as the Jaguars continue to find overall success.

Washington is not the type to comment or force any type of action regarding a new deal now that the season has begun, but the Jaguars' front office has the ability to reward their former sixth-round selection.

Jacksonville will be staying in London to take on the Houston Texans next weekend, as the offense looks to stay rolling.
