As Indianapolis begins a fire sale, Green Bay is aggressively hunting for veteran interior pressure to bolster its defensive front and solidify a serious Super Bowl push.

If the Green Bay Packers aren't able to land defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, it seems like they already have a second option in mind.

The Indianapolis Colts made it clear they'll likely be clearing house in the next few weeks.

This is a Packers team that already acquired former Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin on March 11, 2026, so why not make another move with Indianapolis?

Best Available's Tyler Brooke broke the news that the Packers have "made trade calls" to inquire about Buckner, and then Packer Report's Easton Butler added they've also called about Grover Stewart.

For reference, the reported asking price on Buckner is a second- and third-round pick, while they could bring in Stewart for a fourth-rounder.

Packers express interest in Stewart

This defense has been on a roll here in 2026, and that's largely in part due to the signing of Jonathan Gannon.

Even without Micah Parsons, Gannon has been a one-man wrecking crew, and every single one of his players has lived up to the hype.

Green Bay's offense has been a bit inconsistent at times, mostly in the run game, but they've often stayed in games due to what they've done to opposing quarterbacks.

Obviously, a huge Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings could've derailed everything, along with Bijan Robinson's monstrous Thursday Night Football performance that snapped this team's lengthy home-opening winning streak.

Now 4-2, the Packers know Parsons is on his way back, but they've lost a few other key players to season-ending injuries.

Making a move at this stage in the season would only further prove how serious they are about going all the way, and that was already proven when they added a trio of offensive linemen to protect Jordan Love after a rough start to the season.

When it comes to Stewart, the 33-year-old has been with the Colts his entire career. Stewart was selected No. 144 overall all the way back in 2017, and he's racked up 429 total tackles in 147 games played.

This season, Stewart has 20 total tackles in six games played, 15 of which are solo. He's recorded half a sack, has three stuffs, and a pass deflection.

Stewart has forced three fumbles in his career, two of which have come in his last two seasons.

Of his 13.5 sacks, nine of those have come since 2022. This is a guy who could be a major asset to Green Bay's defense, and he's extremely durable, having played 17 games in four of his last five seasons.
