Javon Hargrave’s torn Achilles marks a devastating fourth blow for the Green Bay Packers.

The Green Bay Packers made it through Week 1 pain free, but then everything started to fall apart.

It's not like they got off to a great start anyways as they lost to the Minnesota Vikings, 39-22, but that loss doesn't look so bad anymore as their NFC North rival is off to a 5-0 start.

As for the Packers, they just improved to 3-2 with a dominant 31-7 victory over the Chicago Bears.

For the first time this season, the Packers have won two games in a row. They've won three of their last four, but four is also a number that stands out in a big way.

In Week 2, star wide receiver Jayden Reed went down on one of the first plays of the game, and then offensive lineman Zach Bako-Bewele went down immediately after.

Reed was ruled out the rest of the year due to a neck injury, and then Bako-Bewele suffered a season ending knee injury.

Fast forward to Week 4 in Tampa, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper tore his Achilles and will also miss the rest of the season.

Somehow, the injuries keep piling on. In Week 5 against the Bears, Packers fans had to witness defensive tackle Javon Hargrave go down with a torn Achilles as well, and now the team has officially confirmed he's also out for the year.

Four season-ending injuries

The Packers have had to endure back-to-back season ending torn Achilles to defensive players. The year began with one of Jordan Love's weapons and key protectors going down with injuries, but now it's newly minted defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon who's having to regroup.

Gannon's defensive schemes have been out of this world, as seen at Lambeau Field when they forced the Bears to turn the ball over five times.

Sure, Micah Parsons should be on his way back in the next couple of weeks, but the road to a Super Bowl looks a lot more difficult without this core four.

Hargrave is done for the year

Hargrave, 33, was a third round pick back in 2016 by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Suddenly, his two-year, $23 million deal doesn't look so good for Green Bay.

It should be noted that this contract does have an out in 2027, so it'll be interesting to see his status and how the Packers choose to move forward.

Here in 2026, Hargrave had six total tackles, one pass deflection, and 0.5 stuffs.
