The Packers kick off their 2026 season against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Sept. 13, from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Talk about pressure. The Vikings are certainly in a transitional place as a franchise, but getting going against an NFC North foe ratchets up the intensity of this season from the get-go.
It's a big season for the Packers. There's a belief that they're in a Super Bowl window right now, which means every single game is important. That means the intensity will be there in Week 2 at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets and it will certainly be there in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, when the Packers will play at Lambeau Field for the first time in 2026.
There's going to be a lot of proverbial ink spilled on this 2026 season and we here at PackersRoundtable hope that you spend as much time as possible with us talking about the ins and outs and ups and downs of the Packers.
As we prepare for the 2026 season, though, we're going to kick things off with a rankings series looking at the Top 50 Packers heading into the 2025 season.
At No. 32, we have wide receiver Savion Williams

IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect.The Packers have a big three at wide receiver and outside of any injuries, that's not going to change. Christian Watson, Matthew Golden and Jayden Reed are going to get the lion's share of the targets at wideout, and that's not even mentioning Tucker Kraft. He should be getting 10-plus targets a game.
There's only one football to go around and unless the Packers are going with "empty" sets with five wide receivers, there's not going to be more than three or four wideouts on the field at any time.
That means a player like Savion Williams is going to have to make the most of his opportunities, but there's plenty of reason to believe that Williams can comfortably slot into the WR4 position in 2026.
He's 6-foot-4, 222 pounds so he has great size as a blocker or a receiver. Matt LaFleur, love it or hate it, loves calling "bubble" screens where wideouts are blocking, and Williams has the talent to be either the blocker or the yards after the catch guy in those scenarios.
He can also be a downfield threat thanks to his size and one has to wonder if LaFleur may be able to cook up some specific looks for Williams in the red zone where he can use his size to his advantage.
Williams was billed as a "gadget" wideout when the Packers selected him No. 87 overall out of TCU in the 2025 NFL Draft, but he does have the tools to be a solid depth wideout for the Packers in 2026.
2025 Synopsis:
Williams caught 10 passes for 78 yards and one touchdown as a rookie. He rushed 11 times for 37 yards, averaging 3.4 yards per carry.
